He’s a wide player being asked to play central and it’s showing.

More like a player who thrives in the attacking third and is being asked to play in midfield.

I would have taken a domestic cup and top 4 finish if offered at the start of the season. We overhauled the midfield I was fearing the worst. Injuries have derailed our season, again.

Rather a back pass than smashing the ball blindly down the middle as some of our other midfielders yesterday (mostly to the opposition). There was very little movement.

Jones has been a big miss while out, and will be a great Liverpool squad player as long as he stays fit.

The second half was so disappointing. It's easier said than done but the thought process should been, the man to man marking has made it impossible to play out from the back or play through the thirds so how do we combat that? They should have been hitting the ball into Nunez and surrounding him to win the second ball. Or they should have been hitting the ball into the opposition's corners and trying to win the ball from there. We needed to be in the opposition final third but we played most of the second half near our own penalty box. We were going out and at that stage, you have to gamble.

The coaches  working for Klopp should also try their best and out on a high, not just the players.
 Klopp looks shattered.

Agree and I’ll miss JK hugely, best manager in my lifetime.
But I remember when Mourinho between 2003 and 2007 was probably the best manager in the world….but son after he was moving jobs, his football was no longer getting results.
Similarly Rafa between 2003-2009 was excellent…but again his style of football soon got found out and he’s similar, can’t hold onto a job etc…
But one thing in life that is constant and that’s change….

It's football, it happens. Football is full of ups and downs, it feels as if some people are just completely spoilt now and the moment anything gets remotely tough they are chucking their toys out of their prams. God help the new manager if he doesn't start off well next season. All managers go through tough moments, it used to be that fans would stick to a team through thick and thin. It would appear to no longer be the case now, no manager or player is allowed a run of bad form, before they are immediately bundled out of the club by fans who just can't take the bad moments anymore.

Again that mid season African Nations has ruined his season.

His output after coming back from them shows his numbers dropping considerably.

He barely played at AFCON though. And while it does seem like the injury has affected him badly, he still looked good when he came back vs Brentford in February.

People are still using the injury as an excuse and saying he's playing through pain, but he's been back for ages and had the whole international break here at Kirkby to work on getting back to match fitness. And he's been rotated a couple of times and subbed often, so he's not getting overplayed. Despite all that, he's been awful.

I'm completely mystified by this terrible run he's on, but I don't think you can pin it all on AFCON. In 2022 it felt like that was a big factor, but not so much now.

It is not about Klopp being 'found out', or Klopp being a bad manager. The team looks flat and out of gas. The coaching staff cannot find a solution. The football is slowly becoming dreeary. A new coaching staff, new manager, and probably a few new players will inject new ideas and we can enjoy some good results.

Meanwhile,  let us enjoy the last 5 games with Klopp.
