We draw each other far too often for it to be random. 3rd time since 2011.

Ah. The two 'hot balls'  it is then.  ;)

Prefer these kind of ties compared to playing the lower league clubs. Suarez's first game to be able for selection as well.

And what exactly is the benefit for anyone, anywhere, to have us play each other this early in the competition? Doesn't benefit us. Doesn't benefit United. Doesn't benefit the TV companies if one of the two biggest TV draws goes out early...

More people will tune in for Man Utd vs Liverpool in round 3 than Liverpool vs Huddersfield or Utd vs Leicester in round 4.

Just wish it was at Anfield.

Good thing I guess is that they play City on the Sunday. City drawn at home to Wigan too so one of them will have to play on Tuesday night, hopefully that's us.

Fantastic draw this.I believe outside the final in 2003 it`s the first time we`ve drawn the mancs in the league cup since the eighties?
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

That's a surprise considering how successful we've been in the competition and we've played the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham in recent years.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Made me smile that draw. Can't get more difficult than that, but we can beat them.

Bit of a shit draw, but win on Sunday and we'll get ready for this. And anyways haven't we got a 100% away win record for the last couple of years? When did we last lose away? 2009?

We lost there 3-1 in our pomp under Kenny didn't we? Houghton scored a consolation. Think that must be the last time we were drawn against them. The final in 2003 is up there as one of my favourite days out to watch us though!

Since we're already playing them on Sunday this isn't a big deal really. Probably better for us, learn a bit about Mr Moyes setup because i haven't bothered to look at it in the slightest.

Not sure, but I'd imagine you'd need at least one league cup away from the past 2 seasons. West Brom, City, Stoke, Chelsea, Exeter, Brighton.

It will start at:

Stoke,Chelsea,City & WBA

Then any 3, Then any 2, Then any 1, Then any STH's, then if not sold out, all Members
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

I'd through Exeter in there to. Prob 4 from any of them 5 to start.

So Felliani will be Cup tied.  Moyes won't be happy with Martinez for that.

Almost seems fixed with it being Suarez's first game back, but don't care regardless as it gives us a chance to beat United twice early in the season.

There's a very real possibility that we could be directly responsible for the former Everton/current United manager getting sacked before Christmas.

Well, we all saw last night how an easy home draw can go; we often seem to make real hard work of it. That said, I never fancy playing 'them'. Gives Moyes a bonus chance to finally beat us, but fuck 'em, lets have it.
