They defend very well. very little space. I don't have such a downer on Firmino, his passing has been poor but he has worked hard.

He made one across the back of the defence where he was begging Milner to play a pretty difficult ball in (through defenders). Most of the rest of his runs have been towards the centre circle. And I like Firmino

They are organised they haven't had to be "incredibly good" but they haven't been tested, firmino needs to play in between the centre halfs second half rather than coming too deep.

Villarreal just aren't a team that set up to entertain, their games in La Liga have had 73 goals combined in 35 matches. We've had 103 in 34 as a comparison. A 1-0 would be a great result.

Decent so far, we haven't let them have too many opportunities so I'll take that.

Obviously Allen should've done better with that chance, and we are moving the ball well but we do need that focal point in order to get that away goal. Sturridge will help in this respect shortly but we have a base to work with now.

It's half time. Sturridge will probably come on on 60 minutes for Firminho. We're light in midfield in the bench so the changes will probably be fresh legs in attack rather than a change of shape.

Villarreal have their best players on the pitch. We have talent to bring on.

I'd bring on Sturridge at some point, but they defend so well, I doubt he's going to get much service. Especially if Coutinho keeps playing how he did in that first half.
