Fucks sake. It's suggested on BT Sport that Marc Bartra has a superficial arm injury. Hope there are no further casualties.

Bild is quoting a German policeman, Gunnar Wortmann, as saying the explosions were caused by “explosive devices” (Die Sprengsätze).

Apparantly enquiries are still continuing in the area, so its probably best to wait for official confirmation.

Awful news. Keep thinking how we were there just about a year ago and having a great night. Hope everyone is ok. Awful for the Monaco fans who'll now likely miss the game too.

Are firecrackers powerful enough to blow in a coach's windows,  which are presumably strengthened?

No idea to be honest. There was an earlier report that the devices had been planted on the road side, where the coach had to turn slowly. So really I guess we need to wait and see what is said.

Why would they say the stadium and everything else wasnt in danger and then re-arrange the game for tomorrow? Isn't there a full investigation that would need to take place to identify the risk?

To be honest the authorities haven't confirmed the game going ahead, they are still supposed to be searching around where the devices went off. I'm guessing it will become clearer in the next couple of hours.

From Deutsche Welle: Dortmund police have told press agency DPA that, as yet, there is no indication that the three explosions are terror-related. But they have said it was "an attack with serious explosive devices" and that the devices could have been placed in a hedge near a car park.

You'd have to assume that some idiot launched a couple of very powerful fireworks at the bus. That would do it. You could classify those as "serious explosives".

Roman Burki:   (He was sitting next to Bartra.

"The bus turned on the main road when there was suddenly a huge bang, a proper explosion. The police were quickly on the spot and handled the situation. We were all in shock … After the bang we all ducked and those who could lie on the floor did so. We didn’t know what was going to happen next.”

Don't think you need security sources to come to that conclusion. That didn't happen somewhere in the city, it looks rather rural where it happened. Of course the bus was targeted...

The BBC report is saying that the tyres on the bus were burst by the blast (although I can't see that in their photographs).
Would take more than a firecracker for that to happen..

Certainly on the pictures that have been released there is no damage done to the tyres, it is quite weird. Also they were talking about another suspect device being found near the hotel as well. Heard nothing from the pc yet.
