If the club were to do a 1000 Players Who Shook the Kop montage, he still wouldn't feature.  What a waste of money.  Nice work, Roy.

The second Poulsen affair is over, they were both without love. Good luck to the lad, it wasn't his fault he was past his prime/not very good/bit shit. I have no problems in having a go once the chance of confidence restoration and re-birth is gone, these people get paid very good money to be good footballers.

But that stupid headband was cool, when Torres was scoring goals for the club, right..?

Best of luck to Poulsen! He was a good professional, but didn't quite have the qualities to play here. Not his fault. He doesn't deserve the stick.

When I first heard he joined Evian, I thought he retired and signed an contract to advertise Evian

Best news I've heard in a long time, I don't like to put any player down but Poulsen was utter shit*.

It annoys me that people are so harsh to some of our (ex-)players. Regardless of their performances, they were playing for the club and they did their best.

I'm sure he would have been a much better signing if it had happened 3 or so years earlier. Hope he does well at his new team.

Water mistake by Hodgson though! ;)

There's no need for the abuse and sly digs, people. He left because he wants to play. Fair play to him and all the best.
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him (Jurgen Klopp) as the next Liverpool manager

That means the 32-year-old, who is on loan in Ligue 1 from Liverpool, may have played his last game for the club.

He's not on loan but I think we agreed to give Evian a decent chunk of his wage for a year to make sure he fucked off. So we literally payed them to take him, almost hilarious if it wasn't costing us money

Poulsen has officially ended his professional football career

http://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/christian-poulsen-stopper-karrieren/

Google translate:

Christian Poulsen has not played since the summer of 2015 and now it is certain that his career is finally over.

The former Danish international midfielder Christian Poulsen stopped in the summer of 2015, FC Copenhagen and reported subsequently that he was open to hear from a new club.

The same was the message from his adviser Jorn Bonnesen facing bold.dk in January, but has since Poulsen not found a new employer.

Now communicate Bonnesen that Poulsen final has put the boots on the shelf.

- Yes, he has stopped. There is no music in it, says Bonnesen to Ekstra Bladet.

- This is how evolution has gone. The opportunities and offers that came, they were not of such caliber, that it could tempt, and then we let it go and not sought out something yourself, says Bonnesen, explaining that there were deals for midfielders from exotic places like China India and the United States.

36-year-old Christian Poulsen reached 96 caps for Denmark, while his on club teams reached represent Holbaek, FC Copenhagen, Schalke 04, Sevilla, Juventus, Liverpool, Evian and Ajax.

He played among other 111 matches in the Bundesliga, 62 in La Liga, 54 in the Eredivisie, 48 matches in Serie A, 38 matches in the Champions League and 12 appearances in the Premier League.

Among the trophies were it to several national championships and a win in the UEFA Cup with Sevilla in 2007. He was also named Denmark's best football player in 2005 and 2006.
“It's impossible,” said Pride.  “It's risky,” said Experience.  “It's pointless,” said Reason.

“Give it a try,” whispered the Heart. - Ken-Obi

Could never tell if he couldn't be arsed or if his legs had gone

His legs were clearly gone. He was boss with Schalke and Sevilla. His legs were probably gone by the time he got to Juventus, particularly since they were willing to sell him to Fenerbahce after one season. His wife apparently didn't want to live in Turkey, so he turned it down, even though he would have significantly increased his wages by going there. Thus, it is not surprising that he rejected offers in the likes of India, China and the MLS. He might have been a good player for us had he joined us under Rafa, but it was a massive case of wrong player, wrong time when he joined us.

He was arguably worst.

One of the worst midfielders we've ever had.

Poulsen was just like Joe Cole, he'd seen better days and his legs were shot to Fuck. Didn't do him any favours that he was replacing Mascherano although it did warm one or two people to Lucas.

Was way out of his depth playing for us, but that says a lot more about Hodgson than anything else.

Not seen a more useless midfielder play for us but he pulled on the red shirt for a short time so all the best in your retirement.  :wave

Was a terrible player for us but he washed up then, was boss for Schalke though particularly one game against that brilliant Milan side from the mid 00's where Poulsen ran the show.

Thought he was excellent for Sevilla as well, when they had that quality side under Juande Ramos.
