lol.. "Never in my 36 years of experience blah blah blah.." Inspirational really, I bet Odemwingie will be raring to play for him now.

How are they the same?  Benitez is baffled by Kewell's injury, Hodgson is blaming Odemwingie for not paying through the pain.

But he didn´t play through his pain barrier in those games.. I mean, knee injuries aren´t that serious are they surely.

Some of this Hodgson baiting is embarrassing.  He wasn't the right man for the job and it told.  Let it go.
Do one. Totally different. Benitez rightly questioned Kewell's fitness, as the doctors did find out he had auto immunity problems.

Post after post bashing a mid-level manager who had a brief, unsuccessful spell as manager when we were going through a messy ownership divorce... so fucking small time.

It was shit when he was in charge, but raking through everything he says months after he's left to find faults is just pathetic.

Kewell got loads of shit from Rafa and fans for 'not playing through the pain' so the analogy stands.  And it's not Rafa bashing - he was justified in calling Kewell out.  I don't follow the life and times of Peter Odemwingie, so not well placed to say how justified Hodgson is in the case; presumably everyone else commenting here has been watching Odemwingie's battle with knee pain closely? do me a favour...

Someone stated he's played 2/3's of WBA games this season.
Hodgson's failures as Liverpool manager was very little to do with the ownership saga, the Club was out of the control of the Yanks and in control of the man who appointed him, and green lighted the deals to sign Poulsen, Cole, and Konchesky for more money than Rafa would have got in the summer.
Mid level manager, who disrespected supporters, our protests, lied about two Liverpool legends, ostracized key memebers of our squad probably because he was uncomfortable with their ability to play football, and nearly relegated us.

For a supposed man manager, it is pretty poor form to lambast one of the key players he has for having recurring knee problems.
It is night and day between what he said about Odemwingie and what Rafa said about Kewell, night and bloody day. Just read the quotes.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Kewell never got shit from Rafa for 'not playing through the pain'

Don't make your own shit up. Rafa questioned Kewells injuries because they couldn't figure out what it was. Hodgons is blaming a player for having the 'same' injury and not playing through the pain. Big difference.

Hodgson is shit and is a twat.

But the comparisons are pointless. Kewell hadn't been reliable in his time at Liverpool. Ever. Him not being there was a major problem for us, and he wasn't a crucial part of our team. Compare that to Odemwingie who scored 27% of WBA's league goals last season and had a further 9 assists, which means he was directly responsible for 42% of WBA's goals scored that season and I don't know how many they scored after he won a free kick, corner or a penalty but I'm assuming it were a few so he's more or less the main reason for half the goals scored in their highest league position since the forming of the premier league.

Now even if we don't include that (why would we, but for the sake of arguement) than he still has played 2/3 of the season so far and is obviously a crucial part of their team and despite having many suitors, signed a 3 year contract extension with the club. Meaning he is not only the club's most valuabe player on the pitch, but also it's most valuable asset on the playing staff.

Roy Hodgson has now gone and ostracised him in public and you pull up a random quote about Kewell's injury problems and claim it two sides of the same coin ???

"I would rather hope that, if I was ever going to be offered the England job, it would be with the backing of the important people, Hodgson said. That would be the media, who represent the fans and, of course, the fans. Otherwise it's very difficult for anyone who takes the job because, even if you've got the competence and you are maybe the 'right person', you need to be perceived as the right person. And the perception of my Liverpool appointment was not right and, as a result, you end up paying for it."

I'd be annoyed too if my main guy was injured all season. For example, I'm annoyed with the Gerrard situation we have. He's out since Spring, plays a couple games and is right back in hospital. Bill Shankly wasn't keen on injured players either.

Still, this isn't something to tell the press. Absolutely classless. Handle it internally. I'm sure Odemwingie wants to play.

I remember him saying how Kewell was involved in some tactics before this one game, along with Sami "and even Gerrard". Also, Rafa used to always say, ok he can shoot, he can dreebel, he can head tha ball, he can go pastchoo. So, ok, he has qwaalitee.

I'd allowed myself to forget all about Roy, until last weekend.  I was chatting away with a group of lads in the pub, not necessarily mates, but lads I know.  There was a fair spread, in terms of teams supported:  West Ham, Norwich, Spurs, Southampton, me obviously supporting Liverpool and a West Brom fan.  Talk turned to Hodgson, and I said I'd rather not talk about him, as it just brought back bad memories.

Fuck me, you'd have thought I'd just announced that Hitler was a nice guy who was a bit misunderstood.  All the classics came out "You just didn't give him time", "he's a good manager", "you never gave him a chance, because he wasn't a big enough name", "the players just didn't try for him".  I tried to explain the many reasons why it didn't work, but no, apparently they all knew Liverpool better than I did.

Well, not all of them.  The one bloke who spoke sense was the West Brom fan.  He backed me up and said that Liverpool was just too big a job for Roy, even though he was very happy with him at the Hawthornes.  So everyone started having a go at him as well.  It's a strange power Hodgson has.

I don't like to have a go at the guy, after all, he's gone now.  But Christ, it doesn't half wind me up that we're somehow still being blamed for him failing here.

I actually agree with you here, it is smalltime. But then I see things like this...

And the perception of my Liverpool appointment was not right and, as a result, you end up paying for it."

...and I realise that I fucking love being smalltime when it comes to Roy Hodgson. He just makes it so fucking easy. Just look at that comment there. Just look at it. This fucking nimrod actually believes the media are important. He actually believes that their backing is all important. He also believes that he's in the running for the fucking England job, having taken a big club to the depths of despair with his stone age 4-4-2 formation, while he stood on the sidelines rubbing his fucking face and sniffing his fingers, and currently seeing his West Brom side suffer from the same sad lifeless tactics, dropping down the league slowly but surely.

He also actually believes that his time at Liverpool ended solely because we acted too quickly in getting rid of the stupid old twat, and that his 36 years managing Sunday league sides to titles a conference coach could win is something to keep pointing at like it's the fucking epitome of tactical genius. He drones on and on about it.

This is a guy who came in and said that our current manager, and biggest ever legend at the club, someone who has won league titles in England, probably wanted the job but he had to talk to him about finding him something he was more suited to, basically acting like a massive c*nt.

Nobody ever wanted him here, nobody ever enjoyed his time here, he hasn't acted with dignity, he hasn't accepted that the job was FAR too big for him, he just carries on bleating about how hard done by he was, and what a wonderful manager he is. He's a big-headed, boring, talentless, guileless, clueless, finger sniffing, face rubbing, 4-4-2 playing, bullshitting, media loving, Ferguson noshing, clunge rocket of a man, and I fucking love being smalltime when it comes to saying so.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

How on earth did he get the reputation of being a godd man manager, the fact that he's old, English and worked at lesser clubs?

Ill admit it when we played Blackburn and lost 3-1 I was pulling my hair out literally and was feeling ill. Roy was actually making me physically ill at what he was doing to Liverpool and I celebrate every time he loses. The Gerrard penalty sticks in my head and how Babel ran up like NOoo.

Blasting your own key player. Well played, Mr. Hodgson.

Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him (Jurgen Klopp) as the next Liverpool manager

A Liverbird upon my chest, we are the men of Shankly's best. A team that plays the Liverpool way, and wins the championship in May.

I concur.

Shite like picking the reserves in Europe and when we lost to divert attention away from it, he banged on about how the reserves clearly weren't good enough and he wouldn't be able to give them chances in future because he'd been lied to about the quality of the squad. Absolutely outstanding message to send to the lads. He said this shit in a fucking press conference, publicly as well.

I started a thread on a different forum of the quotes he came out with to convince them he was a shit head. Because like another guy said, he sucks so much cock of the opposing teams that they all think he's a great guy.
