The options aren’t limited. Arne Slot, Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim are not the only choices. Why are people peddling this as true?

Zinedine Zidane, Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Nagelsmann, Tuchel, Simeone. All bigger names just off the top of the head. Slot is a huge, huge gamble. As are De Zerbi and Amorim.

We went and got the best man around in 2015 and he’s built us up into an elite club again. He leaves and we’re back to Brendan Rodgers style appointments. It’s madness, we’re not spurs.

This is what happens when data nerd hipsters get full power. But I don’t blame them. This is what FSG does. They think they’ll be able to “hack the system” all the time. They try to lower the expectations of supporters as well. “Sos, we’re just on a lower budget and underdogs compared to other teams, even though Liverpool is a huge club.”

1990's nostalgia, my favourite players in Champions League, La Liga and Serie A watching that glorious decade.

Redondo.
Hierro.
Boban.
Batistuta.
Effenberg.
Romario.
Del Piero.

Maybe Alonso has said give me another year at Leverkusen so we are just getting an interim manager for one year. Always going to be a step down after Jurgen but don’t feel one bit of excitement at this appointment, can see us ending up with a load of average players from the Dutch league.

Alonso won't be coming here. Get over it.

I would definitely concur we are probably the most incomplete team - but we knew that from the start, no one really expected us in this position. If we do manage to win it, we've absolutely fought and scrapped for it. But we will have deserved it just as much as if City or Arsenal get over the line. People can say Arsenal are the best team but only first position after game 38 will decide that.

BTW I know you can't just add points on, really you can't even assume the win like we have been. But to be honest that robbery against Spurs still stings. No disagreeable ref decision compares, we literally had a legit goal chalked off purely by a communication mistake.

We should appreciate how well we've done this season whether 1st or 3rd at end of it. Been big success and decent chance it can still end in glory.

Glad he was convinced ::)

Guy has quite literally won the Euromillions lottery.

I wonder what finally persuaded him?

Yeah let's write off a year and potentially lose hundreds of millions of pounds in the process. Solid plan.

You'd hate that wouldn't you?

Let's be honest here, he'd have to be Hodgson-levels of shit for the club not to give him a considerable amount of time during a "transitional period". Edwards wouldn't want egg on his face.

No, he'd sooner hire one etc.

Look at it this way, if he is shit then it’s more likely we go back in for Alonso.

[🟢] NEW: Liverpool have pinpointed the Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot as the man they want to replace Jürgen Klopp.

[@_pauljoyce]

[🟢] NEW: Arne Slot had some discussions with Liverpool and was convinced. His agent Rafaela Pimenta is discussing with Liverpool the important contract details. More meetings are planned in the coming days & weeks to finalise the deal.

[@1908nl]

[🟢] NEW: Slot and his family have already started looking for accommodation in or around Liverpool. The intention is that, if a deal gets off the ground, the entire family will move with it.

It’s done. Well now we all know who our next manager is.
