I wasn't talking about myself there. I couldn't care less about who we get in a final as long as we get there. I was talking about OTHERS, meanaing non LFC folks, who are going to try to downgrade it.

Who cares what they say, if you win Cardiff on pens in the final or win utd 10-0 in the final it all ends in the same result.

It supposedly came from someone at the team hotel this morning didn't it, that Lucas was fearing 6 months out, but I didn't think he was having a scan until tomorrow, so no-one can know for sure until then - can they?

Nothing is official at this stage, but djphal is more than just a twitter rumour monger.  I hope he is wrong on this one though!

In my view getting city at this stage doesn't change too much, had we been drawn against palace or cardiff we probably would of had to play city in the final. This way if we get past them now, we will be in a superb position to go all the way

I should think they will.

Think they'll put out a strong side, whether it'll be there strongest possible i'm not too sure, any team they put out though will be formidable.
This is a nightmare draw.

City are the strongest squad in the League and we have to play them 3 times in 3 weeks. We can beat them but it will be very diificult, however, the games will be wars and will take their toll on both us and City in the league.

Defo would have preferred them in the Final.  CL 2nd round would be close (assuming they make it..).  Either way 2nd leg at Anfield big advantage.  Need Gerrard.

not a chance of that surely?

No chance of that Neil mate

I know it's very unlikely, my mate went down the ground for the Chelsea tickets when they went on general and was turned away after they dealt with about 10 people. Even if it's strictly limited like that again, reckon with 7k there should be some left, if so going to get myself in that queue at 4am and get to this fucker!

We would've had to play City whether it was in the Semi's or the final. Be glad it's not this tie, followed by the prospect of United in the final. Atleast if we beat City, we can expect a trophy in the cabinet.

Beating City won't be easy, but the second leg being at Anfield is such a bonus. We all know how powerful the Kop can be under floodlights. A certain Chelsea arrived there in 2005 with all the world class superstars, and the Premier league in the bag, and quickly found out that winning at Anfield on a big cup night is more difficult than it looks.

We've been deprived of these classic nights for the last couple of years so let's just relish the fact we've got a big Cup semi final at Anfield to look forward too!

We'll beat them over 2 legs.

Would rather that than have to face them for 1 game only. That way we can enjoy our long overdue trip to Wembley  :)

This was the quarter final draw

Cardiff v Blackburn
Arsenal v Man City
Chelsea v Liverpool
Man Utd v C Palace

There was a lot of pessimism arounf at that time.

If someone had said then that a place in the final against either of the two weakest teams left was up for grabs, you'd have taken it.

We'll be well up for it against City.  Home leg 2nd is a bonus, but after yesterday I would have still been confident of going to Eastlands 2nd leg.

I think we've done supremely well so far.  Tough away draws all through (and one round more to play than the other top teams).
United used to win titles on easy street, time for us to take over that real estate

Will some of their players not be at the Africa Cup of Nations?

Just Kolo and Yaya Toure are African in their team aren't they? And that's hardly a big loss anyway considering the amount of good players they have. Even if they were missing most of their first team they would still be able to field a quality squad.

But there's no need to think we can't beat their first team or any team they put out. Sunday showed that.

I really hope Lucas is back by then, if not hopefully Gerrard. we need someone in the midfield with defensive fibers than just spearing

First leg away will be a tricky one, but if we can make an "european night" out of the second leg we will fuck em up

Spearing to score a the winning header and dominate yaya toure. no jokes

In the final they would for sure of put out their best team.

Over 2 legs it might be different.

Either way it's better to play them twice.

Beat them - win the cup as I keep on saying.

Really hope city get a hard team in the 3rd round of the FA Cup because or first leg is just after it, an easy team probably means they rest their players for the 3rd round and play their strongest 11 vs us.

Their fixtures;

1st - sunderland away
3rd - liverpool home
7th - fa cup
10th - first leg
16th - wigan away
22nd - spurs home
25th - 2nd leg

Money is the last thing on anyones mind to be honest kid. As long as we win I think everyone would take a massive financial loss.

And the most important thing after winning the tie is;  how many tickets we get for the council house.
