Bet 1. Youzhny to beat Almagro @ 4/9. 100 returns 144.44
Bet 2. Roddick to beat Benneteau @ 2/9 144.44 returns 176.54
Bet 3. Berdych to beat Andreev @ 1/3 176.54 returns 235.39
Bet 4. Davydenko to beat Tipsarevic @ 8/15 235.39 returns 360.93

Bet 5. Roddick to hold his 1st service game( vs Federer) @1/6 360.93 returns 421.08
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Wow, risky but fortune favours the brave.

I was rather fortunate earlier.

Bet 1: £100 on Tipsarevic to beat Johansson @ 2/5 (in play with Tips a break up in the first set) = £140
Bet 2: £140 on Birdshit to beat Tursunov @ 4/9 = £202.22
Bet 3: £202.22 on Nadal to win 2-0 (Set Betting) @ 1/3 (in-play, end of first set) = £269.63
Bet 4: £269.63 on Roddick to beat Benny @ 1/4 (in-play, *3-3 15-30 on Roddick's serve) = £337.04
Bet 5: £337.04 on Jankovic to beat Dementieva @ 1/5 (in-play, *5-1 JJ in the first set) = Bet Cancelled (Dementieva retiring at 1-6, 1-3, *0-30)
Bet 5: £337.04 on Nadal to beat Blake @ 1/2 = £505.56
Bet 6: £505.56 on Serena Williams to beat Kuznetsova @ 2/5 = £707.78

What are you thinking for your next bet mate? All getting a bit tight this week now and Im not 100% sure but I dont think there is much if at all any tennis next week.

Nadal is set to be my final and last bet of the week. I know Birdshit can turn it on at the drop of a hat but he looked far from convincing against Andreev at times for me and I feel that if his level slips slightly, Nadal'll punish him.

Then who knows what'll happen. Hugely dislike the clay court season.

Not a big fan of the clay court season myself. Especially as a betting prospect.

Doesnt look like Im going to have to worry about mine now! Was banking on Roddick getting two chances in a Tie Break :(

Odds stacked greatly in Federers favour now.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." In agreement that it's likely to be Fed's match now. I've oohed and aahed about getting involved at 1/3 but can't bring myself to do it.

Don't really have any plans for the clay court season. Find it difficult to pick a bet at times which isn't always a bad thing.

I dont know, not sure on anything for tomorrow and the final will probably be just as tight. Dont really want to be touching the first week or so in the clay season either.

Impossible to say at the moment johnybarnes, could all end in the next bet.

Are you two actually putting money on this, or is this a test-run confined to this thread?

If the former, you've shown quite a lot of balls, but I doubt either of you will ever make 21 in a row. You're taking far too many risks, and seem to be in a hurry - picking bets when there's nothing safe available - remember the "shorter than 1/5 or longer than 1/3" rule? ;) If I were you, I'd bet only on round 1 and 2 matches, after that it gets dodgy.

Anyway, good luck to you both, it's certainly entertaining :).

Gianni and Wholey.

I'm doing mine on B365 and letting them play out. I'm not a huge fan of laying bets off if I'm being perfectly honest as you start questioning yourself too often and before you know it you're fucked (though I get the feeling talking to others that it might just be a thing that I do). Too often I've been in a fairly decent winning posistion with an original bet, laid and before I know I'm sat there looking at two red figures as oppossed to green ones.

In all honesty, yesterday I was close to laying Williams and just taking the hit and starting this again with whatever was left other at the end but she came through in the end.

I'm not entirely convinced that 21 bets will be made in a row either or at the very least 21 bets made in a row without banking. I can't speak for Gianni but I'm planning on banking a bit after I get over 1k, I know it's not in the spirit of the challenge but I'll be happy taking some of the money that I've made and banking it.

I don't think that I've personally taken too many risks, all my bets have been 1/2 or under and I've taken the time out to either sit and watch the matches before placing the bets or heavily research them before doing so.

Round 1 and Round 2 matches is something I disagree with to an extent as well. I forsee a lot of 1/2 shots or smaller shots going down quite early in the next few weeks as those payers not entirely accustomed to clay, play on clay and struggle to adapt to the service. As the rounds go on, you know more about the players on the surface and coverage improves in the tournaments so you can actually see how players are performing.

Anyway, just my personal preference. I'm sure a lot of people have different approachs as to how they would do something like this. I'm enjoying it.

I dont know if I have taken many risks yet mate. The first 5 bets I made were all very safe ones as far as I was concerned regardless of what price they were. The last bet was obviously alot riskier than them but I wouldnt have done it if I wasnt confident of it winning, although I really did think when I did it that he would win in 2 sets.

At the moment Im pondering Nadal against Berdych as I dont see anything better appearing over the next fortnight. And for me it would be a riskier bet than the one I made on Roddick last night.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." Bet 2. Roddick to beat Benneteau @ 2/9 144.44 returns 176.54

Bet 6. Roddick to beat Federer (In-Play 7-6 *1-1) @ 11/10 421.08 returns 884.27
Bet 7. Nadal to beat Berdych @ 4/7 884.27 returns 1,389.57

Im afraid Im going to have to leave it there with this. My target was to reach 1,100 after 11 bets so to gain an extra couple of hundred with 4 fewer bets is pleasing. A combination of no more safish bets I like this weekend and the clay court season starting has completely scratched out the temptation to plough on. I might start up again in Monte Carlo though ;)

Good luck Wholey and G  :thumbup

When is Monte Carlo?

3 weeks yet. The main ATP circuit are having a week off before the clay court season starts and the WTA have the Amelia Island (green clay) event.

I think this'll be it for me this week. Unless a women's match really, really catches my eye next week, I can't see much happening in here for me for a while.

Bet 7: £707.78 on Nadal to beat Birdshit @ 4/7 = £1111.93

Must admit that I was terribly tempted by Roddick tonight. The h2h record, the fact that it's on the American Hard Courts and he'll be riding high after beating Fed last night but I've restrained myself. I feel if Davydenko turns up in the same way he did against Tips, it'll be tough for Roddick tonight.

Damn. I thought about siding with Davydenko for ages before this.... Well just stick to singles on the women's tennis next week and make some money that way hopefully (have a holiday to pay for!). Never knew you liked tennis so much Wholey?

I'm quite a fan of punting on the Tennis. Don't do it all too often but I have the odd spurt of bets on it whilst I'm riding a wave or when I convince myself to get involved when chatting with Gianni.

Tennis and football is my main bets... unless you give tips on the darts :P I debate with myself on what to bet on tennis wise for ages..... Well will resume this challenge in Monte Carlo and hopefully I will still be on my good run by then

I was anticipating the Bryan Brothers sorting things out yesterday but never mind, Roddick did the job today.

Bet 2: £140 on Birdshit to beat Tursunov @ 4/9 = £202.22

Bet 7: £707.78 on Nadal to beat Birdshit @ 4/7 = £1111.93
Bet 8: £1111.93 on USA to beat France (Davis Cup) @ 1/7 = £1270.78

I've got one more bet planned and then I'm banking some of it.

A nice little double that pays just over 1/4.

Ok, isn't doing more than a single, bit risky compared to how far it's got you already?

I'd be doing these two as singles anyway so I thought I'd just chuck them in as a double and seeing as I'm commited to it, it stops me from going on something else.

Karlovic and Ferrer if you're wondering.

Karlovic isn't that bad on clay. I'm mean granted he's no world beater but he did alright last year winning in Houston and beating Blake at the French.

He's playing Rui Machado who's not really done much on the challenger circuit but has had some success on the futures circuit. He will have never come up against someone like Karlovic before and he won't be able to adjust. I know Karlvoic's serve won't be as powerful as it is out on the hard courts but he'll still be knocking in countless aces.

I think it'll be a simple match for Karlovic and pairing it up with Ferrer, in my eyes, is a relatively risk-free bet.

I know that some people will have reseverations about it and I can sense you're doing so Bored, but I'm confident in it and he's been backed. If it loses, then it'll be something I'll have to deal with.

Karlovic's odds have drifted since this morning so I'm getting just under 1/3 now for the double.

Bet 7: £707.78 on Nadal to beat Birdshit @ 4/7 = £1111.93
Bet 8: £1111.93 on USA to beat France (Davis Cup) @ 1/7 = £1270.78
Bet 9: £1270.78 on a double of Karlovic (@ 1/6 vs. Machado) & Ferrer (@ 1/8 vs. Navarro) @ 1.31 = Bet Pending

Give this another try:

Bet 1: £100 on Ventura @ 1.62 = £162
