Harsh decision?

I wasn't sure about it, but as long as it's consistent I've no problem with it.

Hales now has scored the highest score in ODI history for England (171 and still going) beating Robin Smith's 167 against Australia 23 years ago.

Well he was still going. Now he is out.

281/2 - 13 more over. Could get 400.

Put this on 3 balls ago and Buttler's already whacked 2 sixes. Absolute carnage, wouldn't be shocked to see 450 brought up here.

22 ball 50 for Buttler. I sense the bowlers are all trying to not catch the captain's eye.

Hales was really holding the side up, plodding his way through the boring middle overs I guess.

This England side really is one of the top ODI sides about. Pasting Pakistan this series. Just need to put it together in a tournament now.

This is why England do persevere with Hales, especially in this format. When he comes off, he generally goes massive.

Overs for Pakistan?

Shame Buttler couldn't get to 100, presume he was on course to make it his quickest yet?

Yeah and although he probably got the record for the most 'swings and misses' in an innings too too make up for it!

Records a plenty.

Highest ever ODI score England's 444.

Sri Lanka made 443 for 9. But was against Netherlands so doesn't count.

Pakistan won the toss & wisely decided it would be a good idea not to let the English batsmen set another total. 131-3 after 28 overs

Talking of which, why doesn't Joe Hart drop the football rubbish and take up cricket again? He was a promising player at one time I believe.

Lallana and Milner would be 2 of the first names on the teamsheet at Notts. Even Clyne would get a game.

Clyne would be one of those players who were always keen to play but never bowled,  never batted higher than 9 and alternated between Third Man and Fine Leg!
