Read this page, to answer that.

Think Alves / Messi is better. Still not sure how you play Messi not in a 4-3-3, given it's all he has played for Barca.  But if everyone is happy, then fair enough.

Hmmm maybe I was a bit quick to ban 433.

Can we get a consensus on this? I just want to avoid any more in-fighting. Quite honestly if it happens again then I'm done with this draft.

I'll play 4-2-3-1. Messi hasn't really played in it but it's hardly like he'd be playing LB. The difference between 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 is minimal really.

Hmmmm pretty cheesy combo with Rijkaard and Davids there. More like two great players who happened to play together then a real partnership. Denies another much greater duo too, which is a pity.

I'm just trying to keep the draft from descending into silly picks. I could veto that pick if I was being an arsehole.

You seem to have a very specific set of criteria for what constitutes a partnership, dyou maybe wanna just post a list of the partnerships we can choose from and we'll do it that way?

You pick doubles apart from when you pick your CBs, then you have to pick the GK with them

Only time you can pick 3 players is with your centre back pairing. You have to pick a keeper that's played with them.

Finally. I wanted to see if someone had the balls to pull me up on this given my hardline approach on any 'dodgy' partnerships. Good work. My real pick is your absolute favourite Mauro Silva + Dunga for Brazil 94. One of the great midfield duos IMO.

Also good to highlight the loss of Davids & Seedorf  ;)

Now we're talking.  That's what I like, a proper combo like Dunga & Silva (or plenty of the others picked already).

Not the biggest names individually, but a great pair together.

That's why I don't really like two full backs or two wide players picked together.  They have been picked because they were fantastic individuals, not as a duo working in combo really.  As rarely do wide players link up during games or work together in both defending and attack like full backs &wide players have to do.

Full back / Wide player combs will get my votes as they had to link up and were a partnership on the field.

If this draft was on an Everton forum, I'm sure we'd see the legendary Baines / Pienaar combo.  ;D

You might have a point there to be honest. I think in hindsight I'd have made it so you could only pick from either wing at a time to create combinations on each side. It would've made it all a bit tougher too. I think that was my hesitancy with it though. I'm not sure how many great winger fullback combos there really are. I'd be amazed if we could've found 16 for each wing! Still, it would've been fun finding out. Oh well, you live and learn. Personally I won't be judging harshly on that though as it would be unfair on people who were just following the rules as they were set out. Blame Seppy Blue if anyone.
