Half time: Liverpool 0-0 Southampton (0-1 aggregate)
« on: January 25, 2017, 08:47:12 pm »
Very, very frustrating. We're really struggling to find any penetration at all in the final third. This set of players were carving teams apart earlier in the season, now it looks like we've forgotten how to create chances.

Southampton look so dangerous on the counter attack as well, we've got away with a few at the other end.

Not really good enough so far.

Still, Southampton have had more than enough chances to put the game to bed both this week and last and haven't taken them. We need to take advantage.
I've just wiped the sticky residue from my bellend onto the television screen. Taste it Leo. You deserve it.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Not too bad, we've had some good chances and so have they. I think if we can get a goal early on in the second half it'll wake us up a lot.

Too slow, these little passes to each other under no pressure help nobody. Someone needs to take game by scruff of neck and drive the ball forwards.

Can and Henderson slowing every play, Trent outshining most on the pitch and had our other player been expecting good balls from him, we would have had more chances. All in all, we may sneak a goal, but we're not scoring three tonight - if they score it's over.

Wijnaldum for Can. We are too slow in the build up and when we win the ball back.

Keep plugging away and the breakthrough will come (but keep it tight at the back...).

Awful performance from us.

Exactly the same as the first leg. No pace in the team, no movement, know one willing to go the extra mile to create something. We are extremely lucky not to be 3/4 down.

Don't know what's happened to this team since the new year but it's not looking pretty for the rest of the season.

Southampton our new bogey team? They know how stay compact and have the energy and pace to break against us at will, and even when they do come at us we don't have any pace to counter with.

Saints should have a comfortable 6 goal margin over us over the 2 legs thus far. No exaggeration. Fair fucking play to them, like. Incredible effort on their part. Pathetic on ours.

Seems like the only way to break the first line of defence (Soton's midfield) is by individual skill (dribbling past players, special combination play).

My slight concern about that half was the strikers going deep again in search of the ball. Need to get the service sharpened, this will up the amount of chances taken.

Possession is good, but we need a better plan against the 9-man defence than either shooting from outside the box or lumping in a cross.

We were the same against Portsmouth/Southampton/Swansea, basically since the turn of the year - We are not ManUre under fucking Moyesy.

STOP FUCKING LUMPING IT IN !!!!!!!!!

Carbon copy of Swansea. No movement, long shots, and crosses as if we've got Ibrahimovic in the box while aways looking like we're going to concede on the break. Should be losing to be honest if it wasn't for Karius again.

Something needs to change, and fast. Need to turn around about a month's worth of poor form in 45 minutes.
