It's our tough shit - we'll have new players to integrate, players at the olympics, players hung over from international duty
Dunno - it's obviously not a huge deal but it is a shit start and we could have done with an easy one this year

But every Club aiming for a title challenge will be in the same boat with players at the Euros, some even have a manager there, players at the Olympics, new players to integrate, some have a new manager to integrate etc...

We will be fortunate enough to have a manager who has had 8 months already at the Club in charge. Plenty of players for those opening fixtures who will have had full pre-seasons with us - Lovren, Flanagan, Ings, Gomez, Matip, Ojo, Branagan, etc...

Who will we have at the Olympics? Firmino maybe, Karius? That's not that bad.

I would much, much rather go to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc... early doors when they haven't built up any momentum or fitness or form.

Fuck it - we play them all home and away. Look at Arsenal, City and Chelsea's run-in compared to ours. It evens itself out.

Yep, its a bastard of a start but if we can ride it out, we have an awesome run-in if we're tilting at top 4 or the title.

Brilliant this. Its hard to imagine a better start to the season than beating last years top 3 in the first four games, and then smacking Chelsea at the bridge for a perfect five.

Up the Reds.

My thoughts exactly

Anyone knows how the ticketting system will work this season?
Cat A, B and C or another type of system?
We Remember them with pride,
Those mighty reds of Shankly's side.
And Kenny's boys of '88,
There's never been a side so great.

Our start last season was pretty difficult too, wasn't it.

Last season was far, far worse than this. I'm liking our run in, especially when you compare it to the one Spurs have. Ouch.

Tough start and really tough Feb/Mar run of games but hoping we're challenging come the last 6 games as on paper we appear to have the easiest run in.

The manager will have us ready and raring to go!
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Another tough start like last season but the run-up is good. Why didn't the FA just give us two aways in a row instead of making us have to write to Burnley? I'm sure they'll agree but it just seems like making hard work of it.
Oh and I assume West Brom will automatically agree to move the away game since they were so good with us last season with their Hillsborough commemorations.

Arsenal away. And possibly no home game until september due to work at the ground (planned this time). Shades of 87? May have to come over especially for the opener at Arsenal to replicate my attendance then. I look forward to a huge number of 4-0 wins this coming season. 😀

Great start. Really make a statement when we've 15 points on the board in September and four home games in hand.

Its possible the home game to Burnley to go ahead?

If it is re-arranged it will probably be known early August, some sources saying the game will go ahead.

Sanchez most likely not be available due to Copa America .Same with Ozil and Giroud  as Germany and France should go deep in Euros .

So we will most likely face an Arsenal side severely weakened .Arsenal don't start that well as well.Remeber them losing at home to West ham and Villa in last 2 seasons .

Also IIRC the only times we had positive results against Arsenal away in recent times  were when we played them very early in the season . Last season draw and the win under Kenny .

So don't think it's a bad think to start Arsenal away .And a win against Arsenal could be a huge confidence booster for the season

This is quite good from premier league I found, you can sync it to your calendar on any device for any club's fixtures. I believe it will automatically update the timings for moved fixtures as well.

The start could be worse you know, I mean, we could be Swansea supporters. They have an absolutely stinking first 8 games. Worst time to face newly promoted teams is early on - two of those to begin with - then a nightmare run of Leicester, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton.

Silver linings and all that...  ;D

Not at all fazed by that to be honest. You have to play them all at some stage, and I'd rather play them away before they have a chance to build up some momentum.

Tough start to the season. Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea early on. I think it's a good thing. With my usual take on it, those are 'bonus games' and thus we have a great opportunity to gain points on the others from the start.

We are not Middlesborough or Burnley. These aren't bonus games, these are games we have to take something from if we want to get to where we need to be (4th-1st).

Im in two minds over the fixtures. If we come away unbeaten, or with 1 defeat and a couple of wins, then great! Come away with a few defeats and a draw or two, then we are chasing the pack from the start. As Leicester and history have shown, its best to be up around the top from the start.

From what I've read on Klopp's pre-season plans, I'd imagine we'll be one of the fittest teams going in to next season. Getting these tough games out of the way while others are still settling in could play in to our hands.

Glad to have a tough start. Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all have players in the Euros and Copa America. They won't be up to speed yet. We won't be, either, but I think it's an advantage for us on the road. April and May look amazing.
