Fucking bet got voided,

£275 on Murray 3-0 and Tsonga to win @1.25 returns 345.73.

Decided to give this up and just play different bets with the money. Might start it up again tomorrow if tonight goes well.

I really wanted a better price on this one. I still expect Monfils to win but I've got a feeling it wont be as easy as the odds suggest.

Bet 1: £100 on Soderling to beat Isner @ 1/4 = £123.
Bet 2: £123 on Del Potro to beat Querrey @ 1/5 = £146.
Bet 3: £146 on Muller to beat Tomic @ 1/3 = £191.
Bet 4: £191 on Gonzalez to beat Canas @ 1/4 = £236.
Bet 5: £236 on Monfils to beat Almagro @ 1/4 = Pending.

I'm back to have another go. Having a pretty rubbish run on the Darts at the moment and need something to focus upon. I've got a target in mind (to recoup my losses in this thread so far when I got into this last year).

Bet 1: £100 on Roddick to win 2-0 (against Tursunov) @ 1/2.

I'll attempt to justify my bets as well.

Reasoning: Roddick's playing at a much higher level than he has been doing in the recent past. It looks like his partnership with Stefanki is working well and he looked impressive last week at Indian Wells. Although Miami's courts are slower than Indian Wells, he dismissed Junqueira with ease on Friday, losing only 1 point on his first serve in the progress. Turdsunov has laboured to victories in recent weeks and struggled to stamp any authority against the Kazakhstanian qualifier in the first round and gave him way too many opportunities (10) to break his serve. Turdsunov (who's record here is pretty hit and miss) will no doubt get frustrated as he struggles to get a grip on Roddick's serve in the early stages and we'll see his UE count skyrocket as he loses patience and starts trying to hit winner after winner and he'll gift Roddick several easy points.

Bar a clay court meeting in the Davis Cup (an epic if you can recall), Turdsunov has only taken one set out of 8 played between the pair of them and the set that he did take was on a tiebreaker after Roddick had a match point so all in all, I'm confident.

It was funny. The fit was a justifiable one though he didn't really go about it in the right manner.

Some what fortunate for him to win 2-0 though once the first set was in, it was never in doubt. I had dwelled over backing Robredo as the next step and although this stinks of aftertiming given that Dent is currently a set up, decided against it as I hadn't seen any of Dent's play recently. I had also looked at backing Wozniacki against Schnyder @ 1/2 but the court conditions look really slow and that'll suit Patty so I'm going to abstain until I've seen a few games.

Monfils appeals as well.

Turs crumbled in the second predictably.  Couldn't believe how many points he just gave Roddick.

Roddick at the end was funny "you're right I'm sorry but my point still stands"  Then just repeating "you're right" to the umpire again and again.  ;D

After having a look at it, I’ve decided to take step 2 and back Nadia Petrova @ 2/5 against Ekaterina Makarova. There is an element of risk considering that Petrova has only just come back from a foot injury but she managed to get through a 3 set match against Krajicek relatively unscathed and got stronger as the game wore on as she probably blew out the cobwebs. She’s got a good history at this event (under it’s several names) with her having a couple of quarter final appearances and a semi-final appearance occurring in the last 5 years (she lost to a young Ivanovic in the 2nd round in ‘05 and retired injured early on against Zheng last year) so she likes the courts here.

Makarova is yet to impress me. She’s not really beaten anyone of note since knocking Chakvetadze out of the first round of the US Open last year and her results this year have been far from encouraging and it seems that when she plays against an opponent with a little bit about them she gets outclassed and I expect it again here.

The only risk is that the foot injury flares up again so I’ve ensured that I get the dollar back should she retire.

I was looking at backing Pennetta with a +3.5 leg handicap against Mauresmo given their head to head record but I’ve decided to plump with Petrova.

Bet 1: £100 on Roddick to win 2-0 (against Tursunov) @ ½ = £150.
Bet 2: £150 on Petrova to beat Makarova @ 2/5 = Bet Pending

That fucker didn't last long.

EDIT - On the plus side, Pennetta wouldn't have covered the handicap bet anyway so I was losing either way.

Should have stuck with my first instinct and backed Wozniacki earlier on.

Meh!

Another day and likely to be another failed attempt.

I've got a few fancies for the day that I'll stick in the main thread but for this step 1 is in the del Potro and Tipsarevic match and is Tips +5.5 games @ 1/4.

The odds aren't fantastic but I think it's a relatively safe bet for all the reasons that Gianni has described in the other thread.

Bet 1: Tipsarevic +5.5 games (vs. del Potro) @ 1/4 and Troicki (vs. Phau) @ 1/5. Combined odds of 1/2 = Bet Pending

EDIT - Doubled it up with Troicki @ 1/5.

Another attempt though this'll be my last for a while as I expected my 3 planned attempts to take me up to Barcelona at least.

I've backed Ferrer against Cillic at the start of the 3rd set.

Bet 1: £100 on Ferrer to beat Cillic (in play at 3-6, 6-3, *0-1) @ 8/11 = Bet Pending

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
