With Kuyt we blocked the most of their attacks on their own half... I don't understand why is he on the bench every weekend while Henderson and his "friends" play...

Steve was great with his balls and his goal of course. Keep doing skipper!

I think Bellamy can replace Luis well temporarily.

Andy Carroll...pff... useless guy. Henderson, Carroll, Downing...change them, sell them or just leave them. Don't care. Just make some changes in January! Otherwise we gonna sink thanks to FA and ourselves. See the reds wasn't given by the ref? pffff. FA hand is above us...  They really don't want to see us in the top four. Disgusting... :boxhead  Markedly like bitches.....

Anyway...Happy New Year all! :hally

Based on tonight's performances I'd like to see this line-up against City.

                 Reina

Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

            Hendo Spearing

Suarez       Gerrard      Bellamy

                 Carroll
More likely that Bellamy will get a rest, weak knees and all

Very good win, all things considered.  Still some concerns about our play, and some of our players, but we just needed a win from anywhere.  We played well in parts, less so in others, but we fully deserved the win as Newcastle had very little interest in attacking us.

Thought Skrtel was easily the best player on the pitch.  He absolutely dominated Ba, and the clearance off the line was simply unbelievable.

Has Carroll's touch always been this bad, or is he just completely lacking in confidence?...
Henderson has to stop shitting out of tackles...
Bellamy was quality...
Ridiculous how much of a difference Gerrard makes to our team...

That felt like the precursor to a gear change upwards.

Steven Gerrard fuel injection.

Role on part 2 of the season, lets rattle some cages Reds.

Since everyone is getting a lot of praise, I'd like to say that Downing had a very good game in my opinion. How this man still doesn't have an assist or a goal to his name is beyond me. Keep it up lad, you'll get there soon!

Maybe so - haven't really seen any replays yet.  Just what was shown during the match.

Still think that in the interests of consistency he should have  been sent off for it

I'm certain no one saw it. Everyone was looking at Henderson screaming that a hair had gone out of place after he bumped heads with Tiote seconds earlier. If any of the Liverpool players had seen it I think it could have got real nasty.

Lack of confidence mate, he had a much much better first touch when on form for Newcastle.

Is Bellamy capable of lasting two games in four days?

On second thought yeah, Maxi or Downing will start instead.

Got to say it we look so much better at the back without carra.  I also thought when we give andy the supply he needs he was spot on, he really does just need that bit of luck and get a goal and he'll be fine ( like crouch).  Welcome back stevie :)

Carroll must have thought it was Christmas with those balls flying in when Stevie came on.  Unlucky with the header and then unlucky with the control on the ball over the top, I think he'd control that better and put it away if he'd had more confidence - good run to make the chance though.

Bellamy was outstanding, but Stevie was awesome.  50/50 for MOTM

Taylor could have been sent off for two yellows, but meh, whatever.   But I am so angry at the Cabaye challenge.   He HAS to get a ban from that.

Exactly, everyone uses the lad as a scapegoat instead of supporting him.

He proved tonight that with the right service, he's a threat, so those having a go and saying he was shite can fuck right off, off the forum and out of the club.

How long can Cabaye get for that tackle? I imagine it'll be 3, but honestly I'd be hoping for something closer to 5-7. Still fuming just thinking about it.

How much would you like to bet that he won't get anything ? Probert will say he saw it and didn't see anything wrong with it (given his position at the time he can hardly say he didn't see it).

Why the eff was Carroll moaning when every pass aimed close to him went wayward? He doesn't seem to do much off the ball ...

Was he moaning at every pass? There was the one where Enrique drilled across goal rather than stood it up.

carroll looked like a forward that will score goals if he keeps getting service like what gerrard gave him tonight

You mean on a plate? So will any centre forward, but you kind of hope they will offer a bit more than that. I dont understnad why he will run around like a headless chicken dropping back trying to win the ball in midfield yet in the oppositions box becomes a statue, hiding behind defenders.

Anyway, good 3 points

In the first half, yes, but he seemed to be in the box quick enough when Stevie came on and was putting early balls in though.

Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

I seem to recall a few seasons ago people bitching over Skrtel being useless and not a good defender
Where are u haters now?

Lucas was considered shit a few seasons ago, And he is now considered ...top 3? best players (Suarez, Gerrard, Lucas, take your opinion)

Players don't always make instant impacts. Some do take time to adjust.

Carroll is getting chances, we are meant to support him. Not criticize. If he wasn't hitting the woodwork and wasn't getting the chances I would probably complain. It could take his next goal, and then he could go on a goal a game run.

Major Point, We won today. Carrolls playing shoulden't be under a magnify glass. If your not a supporter, your a critic (opposite of supporter). RAWK is a supporters forum. Back the team and Kenny.
I'm too lazy to get in an E-fight with some E-troll who is really mad a the world and just needs a hug. But not one from me.

I say swap him for Ba in January, no questions asked.

Yeah and then have him fuck off to the African Cup of Nations, blow up his knee and have his career practically ended. Not to mention him being 4 years older than Carroll and all.
