The perfect draw, IMO.

Arguably the easiest opponents from each of pots 2 and 4, combined with the biggest club in the world (outside of Liverpool, of course).

So there's a clear path to qualify, we're tested at the highest level before the knockout stages, and we avoid Real Madrid in the round of 16.

I just saw the 4-0 again and watching Babel(!!) and Torres waltz past Ramos and Pepe time and time again fills me up with confidence. Real don't like playing against fast dribblers, it could turn into an ugly scoreline for them

Good draw all in all. Was glad when our ball came out that UEFA had found a way to keep us from getting the Barcelona/PSG group at least. And ultimately Real/Basel is a better 1/2 than Atlético/Juve.

Keep seeing people mentioning that they are booking their flights already! Any idea what the tickets for aways are like, or are people just going out even if they don't have a ticket? I want to do Basel and flights to Geneva are really cheap for me. I am 19 so would've been 14 when we were last in the champions league! I know I may need to bide my time before I get a chance to do one, but my aim for this year was to do a European away

When we were drawn out 2nd of the Pot 3 teams and are options were A,B,C, then why weren't we able to go int F as that had Barca and PSG in and hence obviously no country protection

As far as I'm aware it wasn't because of the other teams left in Pot 3, because Ajax went in that group

City and Chelsea were in e-h. For tv purposes they split the English clubs so that two go in to each half of the groups.

No Salah which will affect them.  That said, a tricky group for the tricky reds but i'm confident the sheer joy of being back in the big time will see us through.  Real at Anfield though, cannot wait to hear the atmosphere.
