If he was white he would have a song !

Just change the lyrics to  Daniel by Elton John

Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyesDaniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal
Your eyes have died but you see more than I
Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky

Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyesDaniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal
Your eyes have died but you see more than I
Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky

Seen a few suggestions on twitter (ozzylfc24) that the song needs to be to Argentina's world cup song...

Here is the link to the tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUQiUFZ5RDw&feature=youtu.be

Here is Argentina's version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtYY5zOg5kI

Lyrics

BRASIL, DECIME QUE SE SIENTE

Brazil, tell me how it feels

TENER EN CASA A TU PAPA

To be bossed about in your own back yard (Lit: To have your Dad at home)

SEGURO QUE AUNQUE PASEN LOS AÑOS

It's sure that even though years go by

NUNCA LO VAMOS A OLVIDAR

We will never forget

QUE EL DIEGO TE GAMBETEO

That El Diego 'did' you (with a trick/nutmeg)

EL CANI TE VACUNO

El Cani (Claudio Caniggia) stuck the needle in [reference to late winner vs Brazil at Italia 90]

ESTAS LLORANDO DESDE ITALIA HASTA HOY

You've been crying ever since Italy, up until today

A MESSI LO VAS A VER

You're going to see Messi

LA COPA NOS VA A TRAER

He's going to bring us the cup home

MARADONA ES MAS GRANDE QUE PELE

Maradona is greater than Pele

The lyrics to bad moon rising are as follows:

I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see those bad times today.

Don't go around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

I hear hurricanes a blowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Well don't go around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.

Well don't go around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

Don't come around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

Off you go gents!!

Here's my woeful attempt:

I see Daniel Sturridge rising
I see more dancing on the wayyyy
I see quick feet, he's lightning
I see more goals again todayyy

He'll score again tonight,
For Brendan's Reds alright
There's Daniel Sturridge again he's on fire.

I've had a go, to the tune of this Argies song:

His name is super Danny Sturridge
This lad, he always loves to score
It only takes one chance
He'll give us all a dance
And then you'll hear the famous Kopites roar

Based on Chumbawumba's 'I get knocked down' and fuelled on several lunchtime Havana Clubs.

We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing

He gets knocked down
He gets up again
And he always scores a goal

He gets knocked down
Then he dance again
Cos he's scored yet another goal.

Oh Danny boy
Danny boy
Danny boy

He does a tricky jink
He does a fancy dink
He plays a bit like
Kenny the King... (And could he play)

Oh Danny boy
Danny boy
Danny boy....

Perhaps I should have drunk more/less???!!  :wave

The way he scores
Keep it going Dan
It's goal galore!

Sung to the tune of 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams as DS really likes his R&B music, then switch to Daddy Cool, Daddy cool for the second part.
Maybe do the Bounce for the second part? Always looked good for Torres.

Cause were happy,

Clap along cause we get see the Daniel Sturridge dance,

Cause were happy

Clap along cause we know that he'll score with even just half a chance

Cause we're happy

Clap along with every single goal that Danny Sturridge Scores

Cause we're happy

clap along cause he's all ours and you really wish that he was yours.

Danny's cool, Danny's cool,

Danny's cool, Danny's cool,

Danny's coooooooooooool,

Danny's cool, Danny's cool.

Musical Youth originated in Birmingham and Sturridge was born there.  Also, the reggae sound relates to Sturridge's Jamaican background.

EDIT: Looks like I was a bit late in getting my post up as other people have thought of lyrics to the same tune, I'll leave it up unedited though.

^^^^^^

I actually really like this one (the Pharrell Happy one). But someone mentioned Safety Dance and I think this is too good of an opportunity to get that song sung on the terraces to turn down. I'll give it a go:

To the tune of Safety Dance:

He can score when he wants too,
He'll leave your defenders behind!
And he only needs one chance to make him dance
And the Kop will dance in time!

He can score when he wants too,
Danny's ours and ours alone!
He wears the red that makes defenders dread
coming near our Red Home!

He will dance! He will dance!
Danny only needs one chance!
He'll dance!! He'll dance!!
Danny leaves your defenders in a traaaance!
He'll score! He'll score!
He'll leave the Kop begging for more!
He'll score, He'll score
The Reds are gonna sooooar!

It's Danny's Daaaaance! It's Danny's Daaaance!

Obviously this can be shortened or edited however but I thing it's a cracking tune to get on the terraces. Any thoughts?

Let's take back the Torres Song:

He came to us from Stamford Bridge
Sturridge Sturridge
He saw the light and made the switch
Sturridge Sturridge
A whirlwind when he's on the pitch, He's cooler than a fucking fridge
He's Daniel Sturridge
And he dances when he scores

Getting silly now, come on people. I know there is an element of songs "happening" organically but he's been with us long enough now that a song is required. Plus he has all the qualities of someone who would love a good song; just see what he says on Twitter about the fans.

I re-submit my Flintstones one;

Sturridge, Daniel Sturridge
He's a dancing mad goal machine
From the town of LIV-ER-POOL
He's going down in history

Sturridge, Daniel Sturridge
We're on our way bound for glory
Tra la....la la, WE ARE LIVERPOOL
We're going down in history

Any song will be sung while he is doing his dance. Not a Michael Jackson fan, but fitting Daniel Sturridge into any song...

How about "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough".

http://youtu.be/ZorRGrDiMsA

Here is an attempt at the chorus.

Sturridge scores another goal
Don't stop till you get enough
Sturridge loves his Anfield home
Don't stop till you get enough
Sturridge does the dance reds love
Don't stop till you get enough
Sturridge thanks the man above
Dont stop till you get enough

Ok, this maybe the most ridiculous song I will ever propose but here goes (gets coat ready).

Our Daniel seems to be an interesting, eclectic kind of guy, so why not have two parts to the song, completely different in style.

It could start off with a classic verse from Danny Boy, sung slowly as with FOAR, and then quickly turn into a chant to bounce to, as in Shots by LMFO; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNtTEibFvlQ (1:17 - 1:34):

So.........

Oh Danny Boy, the Spion Kop is calling,
Around Anfield Road and all of Merseyside,
Luisito's gone, but you just keep on dancing, (or scoring?)
Oh Danny Boy, we’ll be dancing by your side.

(Everybody!)

Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,
Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,
Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,

Everybody!

Obviously the lyrics to Danny Boy could be better (the whole thing could be better!), and you could add a second verse to prolong the song before the bouncing begins.

Edit: You could even include Mario in the second verse and change the Everybody to Balotelli!

2nd Verse (needs better lyrics):

Don’t be sad, the league this year we'll cantor,
Cause we all know, the goals are going to flow,
But in case you need, a little bit of banter,                  (He loves a bit of banter!)
Oh Danny Boy, we brought you Mario.

(Balotelli!)

Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,
Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,
Studge, studge, studge, studge, studge,

Balotelli!

Know it was said a while back but "Daniel Sturridge will be dancing when he scores" to "She'll be coming round the mountain" seems like an easy and good choice right?

When he passed you
On the right wing
Well you fell right on your arse
You should've took that last bus home
But you gave it one more chance
Now we're singing to the rythms
And everyone's getting ale stains on their pants
And the kop, they're going crazy
It's like we're in a trance

Danny's dancing in the floodlight
He thrives in the spotlight
(it's alright)
Dancing in the floodlight
You're in for a long Anfield night

It's ten o'clock in the evening
And you're way to late again
The ref's given you another warning
You should've been sent to the bench
Now we're lining up for the free kick
And your job is to mark one man
Oh, and when he starts running
You're way to slow again

  • Wholeheartedly supports the cause but would stay seated in a walk-out protest cos, you know, it's so expensive to get to the game, so doesn't wholeheartedly support after all and misses the point completely. All in one sentence. Wow.

It's already been done, and I don't know why it hasn't been sung yet.

This, this and this.

I've seen it floating around here for a while, but for some reason has never caught on which I'm not sure why. The connection between the Musical Youth's roots and Danny is perfect. Not to mention its a legendary song in itself.

As for the lyrics, the last line needs to be somewhat altered to better the flow of the Sturridge song, but other than that its dead on. Let's make this happen ffs, its a damn tragedy he doesn't have a song yet...
