If i'm reading that correctly it looks like the english language broadcasts will only be on ESPN3.

I'm guessing these are the less than marque matches.

Had no idea, but on the ESPN widget on Apple TV (or any other streaming product I would assume) there are a ton of random full game replays like German cup games and coverage of lesser watched leagues and smaller Champions League ties. Football hipsterdom here I come!

Yea, ESPN3/watchESPN should have 4th-5th picks(and lower) for CL games. And Fox will always go with the English clubs first. It is possible, though, that ESPN will stream the spanish language versions for their streaming platform as Fox Deportes will likely take Barca/Real games.

As an example:

Lille/Porto was on Fox Soccer Plus last Wednesday in English. But my watchESPN had a stream in Spanish. Might be a realistic option for those of us at work and don't mind Spanish.

Reminds me of the fond pre-NBC memories of only getting Fox Deportes, and then swiftly pressing the SAP button to get all of our televised games in English. ;D

Champions League matches will be on Fox Soccer Channel or FSC plus. They will feature us and the other English sides.

Then there will be the additional channels for all other matches.

So we'll be on..no worries.. :P

Then cancel it when not needed.

Fox Soccer Channel doesn't exist anymore.

It's been replaced by Fox Sports1 and Fox Sports2.

11th Street tends to be really, really packed on gamedays hours before kickoff, and I'm guessing more so for a big day like Madrid.  Lunasa is a couple blocks away and is where they typically direct the overflow from 11th Street (which is a tiny pub).  It'll be packed with Reds.  That's my best bet for ya!  YNWA

The matches will be on Fox Sports 1 and 2 unless there is some scheduling reason why not. For the qualifiers the big names got on 1 and the lesser names on 2. They tend to skew towards Premier League teams so I would expect us to be on Fox Sports 1 even against that Bulgarian team, unless there is an obvious big game against us.
I don't get 2 but will just upgrade and cancel as and when needed and piss the cable company off. I doubt any of our games will be pushed off those 2 channels. In fact last year they showed reruns of the games (including the ones they didn't pick that afternoon) through the evening and overnight. Fox doesn't have enough products to fill schedules on 2 full time sports channels as it is, the Champions League is the best ratings option they have for midweek afternoons that is for sure.

I'll be in Costa Mesa for the Derby on the 27th. where's the best place to watch the game?  The Orange County supporters club seem to go to the Auld Dubliner in Long Beach, which is apparently a 30min cab ride from where we are staying in Costa Mesa

Is this the best place to go?

Thanks

Just twitter or facebook message the OC supporters group and they'll tell you where the closest place is to watch a game but it may not be any closer.  I moved 40 miles away from the LA supporters club now but there are places in the Valley that will have it on, still a 20 mile trip though.

That's very true, on weekends.  Given that this match will be on a Tuesday at 2:45 New York time, it may not be as packed.  I'd try the 11th street first, and if there's no space, Lunasa is just a few blocks away.

Good news! CL opening game against Ludogrets will most likely be televised - most likely on Fox Sports 2 - but still better than looking for a stream or trusting the dodgy as hell Fox Streaming Apps.

(Also would have been available to DirecTV subscribers on the UEFA overflow channels).

Yep, Fox Sports 2 it is. Glad I get it in HD. Also, they are doing some sort of NFL Red Zone type channel with FS Plus.
