We have been asked buy some Reds if we are putting on anything special at Ruse for the Saturday evening before the Villa semi. We will be open until midnight and will have a full night of footy and boxing. Apart from the other semi and the Chels v Mancs game at 5.30 we will also be showing Real Madrid v Malaga at 7pm, Juventus v Lazio at 7.45pm, and the Derry Mathews WBA World Lightweight title fight from 9pm. Hopefully there will be another scouse world champion by the end of the night, as well as lots of singing and laughs. www.ruse.uk.com walk 100 yards right out of Borough tube station.
Let's also never forget the 39!

A great LFC friendly pub in west london - 3 miles away from Wembley - is The Masons Arm - 665 Harrow rd, NW10, great atmosphere, great food, great pub to enjoy the game or pre game as its opposite Kensal Green station which is 20 mins away from Wembley station - cant recommend it enough.

Hoping to get to ruse but will be cutting it fine time wise. Is there a chance we won't get in 10-20 mins before kick off? If so will it be on anywhere close by?

Stevie's last Anfield game will be on at Ruse today. A good crowd is expected and lots of singing. To say thanks to our loyal supporters we are doing all draught beers half price from 4pm to 5pm. Enjoy the day everyone!

The new season starts on Sunday so Ruse will be bouncing for the game.
Some bad news though, the lease on the building has been sold and so we are closing for good after the Arsenal game on Monday 24th.
It has been a great 15 years and I have made many new friends over the period but time to move on now, so thanks for everyone who has visited Ruse and hopefully we will catch up again in the future. YNWA!

Very sorry to hear that, had a lot of good times watching the game at Ruse (particularly in 13/14...). Good luck with your future endeavours! YNWA

I have just been at Ruse today with my bird and it was brilliant. Sad to hear it's going to close. Hoping for another LFC pub in London to follow the lead.

Bad news that Ruse is closing it's doors. Brilliant boozer for the game. I'll be there for the Arsenal game to give it a send off.

Need to find another pub as good as Ruse for the rest of the season...preferably around London Bridge (by work) or North London for weekends.

It was a fantastic send off! Chris from LFC London has made arrangements to go the Blue Eyed Maid on Borough High Street for future games, including 3pm's as far as I am aware. Just a final word from me re Ruse, it has been my pleasure over all these years and thanks for everyone's support over that time and kind words on here. No doubt I will catch up with some over you either at the BEM or at games.

Actually there was a certain fun factor in sitting in front of a load of nervous tetchy Arsenal supporters. Mind you we were all nervous by the second half.

Oh FFS!!! I wish I'd have seen this earlier. I've been telling/taking London peeps there for a few years now. Damn shame. The only place that'd allow me a Malcolm to bring our bikes in and be welcoming to opposition fans without any of the unnecessaries.

I'll raise a toast to you and your family, Tony.

Anywhere that'll be showing the match today?  I've got to review a gig in Camden so close-ish to there would be ideal.

Quinns on Hawley road is good for football and used to show hooky games, last time I was there was a couple of years ago though so you might want to ring them. I think the enterprise up by the roundhouse used to as well, though again, ring ahead.

As a replacement for the now closed-down RUSE bar (thanks for the great memories Tony!), the LFC London supporters club has agreed to use two nearby venues for live matches:

  • Blue Eyed Maid: 173 Borough High St London SE1 4NG
  • Roxy Bar: 28-132 Borough High Street London SE1 1LB

The two venues are just across the road from each other, not far off London Bridge station (and Borough station is near as well).

Tonight’s match between LFC and Sion will be shown live at the Blue Eyed Maid (not at Roxy).
Sunday’s derby against Everton will be shown live at Roxy.

I genuinely don't know, but looking at Roxy's website it appears they typically charge £4 for entrance when showing live sports events. How much was charged at the Norwich match? I must say I'm really not a fan of such charges, though if going regularly you'd save money by paying £12 for the annual membership of LFC London.

It was £6 in for that game. There was food included with that but I'd say most people are only really arsed about watching the game and having a couple of beers.

Agreed. Roxy has realised this as well and has decided to "force" people to buy food by charging an enctrance fee - can't say I like that approach. But then again I've paid the £12 for annual LFC London membership so won't affect me personally.

Doesn't seem like there's much clarity on where to go post-Ruse then? If there's two different pubs being used, non-members much less likely to come along as how are you supposed to know. And if one of them is charging entry even less chance of non-members and people's mates. Seems a shame.

For games that are on Sky or BT Sport I think I might head to the Ship if I'm in town and want to watch the match. They were always happy to accommodate loads of reds when Ruse hit capacity as it's only about 200m further down the road from Borough tube stop. It's a nice bar and a decent size too.

The Blue Eyed Maid and the Roxy are in the same ownership and across the road from each other so if one is not showing the game the other will be. Chris from LFC London has been trying to sort out the door issue and it shouldn't be a problem this weekend. Chris also spoke to the manager of the Ship to see if he wanted the LFC games and he said no. I would be at the Roxy on Saturday but I am working unfortunately.
