Those are his news boots....he will be using them till just before the world cup. I tested em back in September...extremely comfortable and snug fit..though the color choices were not his....

I doubt he will play with them... at the Eurocup he was told to use a new Nike boots model, used them four matches and when the final came he told Nike to f*ck off. He's a bit maniac with those things...

The color isn't the issue with Torres..its the fit and comfort. He hasn't got much of a choice with this colorway...its what Nike are marketing for the next 3-4 months before the world cup range come out...thats what I am told by the geezer who handle's Torres Nike gear..

When Torres is on fire he rarely changes anything... when a footballer has in his mind that a pair of boots are the best for him or are just "lucky" for him, is hard to change his mind. At the Eurocup he was told to use a black ones, the same as other players but he hadn't been lucky with them and in the final match he chose to use his usual boots... and scored the winning goal.

So, maybe he has a problem with confort, I don't know... but he has been always superstitious with these things. Even with his hair, when he wasn't having results he changed it... and is the same with the boots. I would be surprised if he changed them for the whole season.

In the past, he was given nike boots and they were not consistently the same cut or comfort or fit as what he gets now. He essentially wears the same boot with some minor touch up's and color changes so..no biggie for him. He does however need to break them in..which is really what he hates doing..but all sponsored players, Gerrard included go through this all the time so...
