Of course he is, he has been fantastic in pre-season and was class last night in his cameo for Italy.

He wont get as much time on the ball as he has been afforded in pre season, Glorified training sessions mate.
He's a decent player, dont get me wrong but im not sure he'll cut it in the league at all.

But Enrique is a great signing and cant wait to see him and Downing owning the left hand side.
Improved his defensive qualities as of late also.
Bargain price as well.

Enrique > Konchesky
Adam > Poulsen
Downing > Jovanovic
Henderson > Cole
Doni > Jones
"New CB" > D Wilson
with Aquilani back and add one more striker, we're ready to go!

This Season > Hodgson Season

I'm not convinced by any of that.

Thought Kuyt looked very dangerous, much moreso than Henderson did out on the right. He also scored, as usual.

I still think it was the Big Greek who scored.. Kuyt should not be a shoe-in in the starting eleven for a club with aspirations like ours.. Look at (sigh..) Park Ji-Sung.. That´s how we should use Kuyt.. His lack of creativity and technical ability is shocking at times, but he does have a great mentality and a certain ability to score important goals so he absolutely useful to have in the squad though.

I suppose Enrique insisted on joining us and us only since there wasnt exactly a bidding war considering he wouldnt cost much .

That shouldnt be a big surprise since we`re talking about someone who didnt abandon Newcastle when they got relegated. I think this guy is a true professional who`ll give 100 percent every game for us.

Saved me the bother, the only game he didn't really impress me in was the Valencia game but that was more because we kept smashing the ball 10 feet over his head. People wetting themselves over Adam but can't see the wood through the trees when it comes to Aquilani.

I can't believe we're actually signing a decent leftback.

Enrique, Aurelio, Robinson, and sometimes Johnson, is very very strong.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Ideally we bring in a quality defender and another attacking option alternative to suarez and carroll. Also get rid of poulsen ngog degen any other hopeless fringe players e.t.c That would make an already great transfer window out of this world!

If you ever want to know how valuable a player you've just bought is, see the reaction of the fans of the club they've come from.

Newcastle fans are gutted, think he is a class player and think he's worth a lot more.

More than he's work rate, his intelligence is his best attribute. I think Kuyt should still be a starter next season.

There will be a number of games where he will start.  Either as a striker alongside carroll/suarez or on the right.  However, if he wants to start regularly Dirk is gonna have to up his game - which is only a good thing for the team.

The great thing is that we can cover injuries around the park quite easily now but more importantly give players a rest when needed.  Some players will be rotated more than others but it should mean that the squad is kept as fresh as possible through the season.

When this first appeared at around £15m it looked OTT, but at £5m-£6m I think it's a great deal considering how much we paid for Konchesky, but this gives us some real cover on the left, and pretty much completes our squad for the season to come.

Left back sorted.....

With no European football can we wait 12 months for a new Centre Back??....Carra Agger Greek Wilson Skrtel Kelly for 38 games plus domestic cups, plenty??

plan.......Buy Dawson in 12 months......theory

1. Spurs are historically a selling club
2. Spurs finish outside top 4 (likely?)
3. Bale and Modric jump ship
4. Harry replaces Capello (or finally court case goes ahead and gets sent down with Mandaric for tax evasion)

Dawson fancies fresh start elsewhere......works for me
according to 24/7 I will be scrambling round for tickets on the exchange all season #STH #19awayclub

I'd love for us to get a CB this window - we do need another striker but think we could wait until Jan

                                Reina
        Johnson     Skrtel Cahill   Agger        Enrique

                                Lucas

    Suarez                                          Downing

Very happy with this signing, its one of the positions we needed to fill.
The few times i saw him last season i was impressed, i hope he can settle well and be part of the revolution!

Welcome Enrique!!

A new CB would be icing on the cake....however i think we have bought well this transfer window, hope the big spending pays off! And the remaining deadwood can be shifted as soon as.....
