I know you don't have an eye for detail but you should read the thread title.

You got me there. I had it in my head that we're playing on Saturday... :(

The yellow bibs in training today:

Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Flanagan, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez.

Think that's the team.

Brendan has bigger balls than Stevie if he plays that team.

Going all out, I love it.
We have to surely? The onus is on us in this game. Quite simply we have to win it, and they don't.
Personally would love to see that team. It may even give city a more defensive mentality, which could work massively to our advantage considering what Anfield has become for us this season.

I also need to organise placements by tomorrow or Im not doing them and sort out some of our renovations as well as be up in a few hours for work and its now 3am in the morning here in Australia and all I can do is think about our game and anything to do with Liverpool...

As good as City are, their record at Anfield isn't great. They haven't won there since 2002/03 and they certainly haven't come here in such a high profile game. We played them in the League Cup semi final a few years back with quite a lot on the line and the atmosphere was brilliant. This will be on a different level altogether.

I still see the left side of City's defence as a major weakness that we can exploit.

I really don't mind most City fans, and I need to stay away from that forum to keep that point of view.

Huge game in the title race, half of me can't wait and the other half wants it to be over already. Anything that keeps it in our own hands will be seen as a good result, so we are effectively looking to avoid defeat - the fact that the draw suits us more so than you makes me personally feel a little more relaxed (for now), as it gives us some margin for error right from the off. (e.g. we can go 1-0 down and still be in reachable distance of a good result).

I expect you'll see us line up Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Yaya, Silva, Nasri, Navas, Aguero. He definitely won't be going 4-4-2 so the only change I think you could see to that is Navas or Nasri out for Garcia, who will slot alongside Fernandinho and Yaya will be pushed into the CAM role, but it's more likely this will be a change during the game as legs get tired and the time comes to unleash Yaya.

I'm going to predict a draw, on the basis that I'm too pessimistic for a win and we have been very solid lately (only losing 1 league game in the last 22 to Chelsea). Having said that, you are the in form side and I can definitely see us getting beat (I just can't predict it) ;D Our record isn't the best at Anfield and you'll explode out of the blocks with the atmosphere (I think we'll have to ride the storm a bit early on and try and let the game settle). Both sides are capable of scoring plenty, as well as making defensive howlers - it's a recipe for chaos, or a boring 0-0. Our house is half and half so there is added tension this time around.

I disagree with those saying the title won't be won or lost in this game. If we lose I can't see you letting anything get in your way (and Chelsea have a CL semi to worry about either side of your game), and if we get a favourable result then 4/6 of our games are left at home and we can afford another draw (minimum) away as I think our GD will edge away slightly if we are to win our games in hand. So I think the title can very much be won or lost this weekend.

Erm, why ?

With the possible exception of Agger for Sakkho; Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Flanagan, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez is our best first XI at the moment.

We should be alright though - Lawro's predicted a 1-1 draw :D

Did we play similar attack to that against Villa and got whopped first half?

Same team except Toure and Cissokho started.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

I can't beleive there's so many reds who just don't get the significance of the 13.37 KO time.

Probably because on that day it wasn't 1.37pm but 3.07pm. That's what confused me anyway.

Hope Rodgers goes for a 433/4312, with either Lucas/Allen replacing Coutinho. That way we'll have an option off the bench. Winning the ball back and dominating possession seems the safest play. Unless Rodgers wants to counter, but that could be dangerous against City's attack.

want the win but going for a draw here.  Head over heart. We wont smash em as some people have intimated.  Itll be tighter than a nuns badger this one, but itlll be one hell of a game.  Keep Silva and Toure quiet and go for the jugular on Demichelis. If we're going to win i think we'll need a 3 goal cushion. Cant wait!
We just leave them be for a while, take a breather, let them settle, then bang!  All over them like a tramp on chips.

We did but they set out differently, against villa was more a 442/4222, Brendan learnt his lesson and womt be doing that again though. This will be 433. Think its our best line up too.
