No, people die at the end based on who gets left to hold the line. Each person has an "armour" rating, the average points have to be higher than a certain amount, or people die, starting with Mordin.

Here's a chart for you.

Thanks !
Looking at that I'm actually quite pleased with just loosing Mordin.

Another quick question,
I've downloaded the DLC for Mass Effect 1.
Does the content show up in the game or do you have to start it up from the menu ?

Which DLC, Bring Down The Sky? Just open up the galaxy map when you're in the Normandy and it will be there. Same goes for Pinnacle Station.

It doesn't work.
After I finish the game, the last mean story mission, the game starts rolling the credits and I can't get in anymore.
All I can do is start a new game.

I'm playing the 2nd again at the moment, with the DLC.
It's one of the best games I've ever played and that says a lot because I've played many, many games over the years.

Exactly what I did on the first two games. Its by far my favourite save and I consider it my main save too, even more so that the save where all the characters survive.

About # 3:
Anyone else worried that they will completely fuck it up ?
That it will be a space shooter with a bad and unsatisfactorily story ending ?
I've got this dreadful feeling this will be a Babylon 5 kind of ending.

I don't think theyll fuck up the ending, more worried about it being a "Go recruit some alien races and then return to Earth" shooter game like ME2 was, I want more of a storyline like ME1.

I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

I'm surprised at that Doc! Imagine Fallout's gameplay as a bit more "streamlined"* and you've got Mass Effect. Exploration takes more importance in the first one however.

*Imagine being told the game is "streamlined" by some c*nt in a suit who works for a video game company despite never playing video games, and looks like this.

Having not played any of the Fallout games, I can comment that they are very different games indeed.

Nothing like Fallout.

ME is pretty linear, while Fallout isn't.

ME's combat is superficially similar to Fallout's real time combat, but that's like saying Duke Nukem and Half Life 2 are similar just because they're both FPS.

Item and inventory systems are completely non-existent in ME as they've streamlined it, unlike Fallout.

ME has a moral system akin to the other Bioware games like KOTOR, Jade Empire and whatnot. Don't think Fallout has that aside from their karma system which works pretty differently.

One is a high sci fi setting space oddessy. Fallout is a post apocalyptic story. I guess you could claim they're both Sci Fi, but see above comparison on FPS.

Both decent games though. No reason not to get both, unless there's an aspect in one that you really can't stand.

For me I like games like Morrowind/Oblivion and Fallout, but don't have the time and committment to do that much free exploring these days, and prefer something with an endgame clearly defined like ME. Some friends of mine find ME too linear, or are not taken by the far future setting.

But if you have no idea either way, I'd suggest ME is definitely a good game worth a pickup.

Started up a new ME2 game last night in order to re-cap in time for release... ;)

Edit: Just read this too, quite excited now!

Not going to be on Steam. EA are being their usual fuckhead selves and trying to push their Origin distribution platform because they couldn't come to an agreement with Steam. Really making me reconsider the decision to pick up a copy until they sort this shit out.

So IGN's Jessica Chobot is in this? What the fuck were Bioware smoking to put her in the game?

Demo is up on the xbox, soon on PC and PS3.

Multiplayer online early access is open to those with a BF3 online code (as log as they went on the multiplayer once, even if they didn't play a game), for the rest of us, the Multiplayer will be playable on Friday.

Not a fan of the multiplayer really it's a bit boring and doesn't feel like mass effect, can't see myself touching it untill ive completed all of the game, everything else about the game looks good though, can't wait.

See, I love the multiplayer.

Hoard style with objectives in the rounds, all including the basic mass effect formula of levelling up and getting stronger abilities/weapons. Not as good as the single player, but still good.
