Maybe this is the wrong part of the forum, so I apologize I wasn't sure.

Have any of you lot had parts of your conversations/messages on facebook disappear over night? Last night when I was on my laptop, I was looking through a conversation from yesterday, and half of it was only available, and as I was scrolling further, it jumped to messages from 4 days ago, so there is a 4 day gap of messages that have suddenly disappeared. I then checked on my phone, through messenger, and I could see all of the messages fine without a problem.

I wake up this morning, look on my phone and I see the same issue now on my messenger, blocks of messages gone, and it takes me to messages from 6 days ago, so more and more of the conversation missing. What the actual feeck?

Any way to fix this, I've looked online, I see that others have had problems but no concrete answers

Facebook - tagging all friends
« Reply #365 on: October 31, 2016, 04:41:11 pm »
Does anyone know how to tag all of your friends in a post easily? I've seen some scripts online but they look dodgy.

I'm raising money for charity and want to make sure all my friends see the post, so nothing dodgy!  ;D

Think when you're creating a post it gives option to tag friends and pretty sure you can do a select all thing?

Nah it's to prevent spam basically. Seems like every few month someone writes a script that does it, which Facebook then fixes so it no longer works. All the while dodgy groups are putting fake scripts out there to try and get access to the computers of anyone who uses them.

In way over my head  ;D

I've been on Facetwat for about 6 months, and I genuinely don't know what the fuck I'm doing on there. I occasionally click on my facebook app, and things turn up, and I read or skim read, just passing thru things, but I'll see something that i'd like to carry through a bit more and then an hour later, I just can't find it, so I give up. And then things I read on my phone won't appear on the computer back home and visa versa, so if you are on my list - I really haven't got a hang of it. I enjoy passing thru your lives tho. :wave

I closed my account down in about 2008 I think, best thing I've ever done (get a bit obsessive with stuff like that). My missus is constantly on it and I sort of get it but it's changed that much that I probably don't, I'm 33 and I realise I sound like an old bastard but I'm actually really happy without another 'thing' to distract me, although I think it's made me a bit socially awkward too cos' people don't get that I'm not into it (or any other social media for that matter).

I use Facebook to subscribe to newspapers and magazines from around the world and it's been fantastic for me to get news. I guess it depends on how you use it for your own good. It took a while to bin the idiots on my profile but I remove them as and when I see posts that piss me off and now I have a decent page with all the things I need and a few decent friends on it.

Is there a way of seeing when you became 'friends' with someone, even if you're no longer Facebook friends?
Would be even more fun if you could stand up to a hook to the jaw for being a snidey bastard. But then that's reality! No one needs to 'swim or drown' in a coward's paradise.

Completely outgrown it's purpose.

On the contrary, considering its purpose is to induce swathes of people to offer detailed personal information on every aspect of their lives that were once considered personal, so that marketing companies could get fabulously rich through exploiting this entirely free goldmine of information, I'd say it was still right on point, purpose-wise.

It's a mixture amazement, lack of understanding (on my part) and if I'm honest a little bit of sadness that you feel you need to do it.
