A fine example of how far this Island has advanced as we approach the 65th anniversary of D Day.

The only way the tit could trump his cuntishness is if he was from Manchester....no don't tell me.

Chaucer. Read them some Chaucer. Try and get them excited by it, and then drop in some Chris Morris on a Friday.

Most of Manchester finishes the week after next, some are finished now, like Trafford where I currently work...I think its great news about the K3 testing, the less testing the better in my view but that's a long story.

Anybody a P.E teacher out there?

What degree did you do? and did you enjoy it?

Am on a BTEC National In sport Level 3 at the minute, and going to be doing sports science in university, JMU hopefully. I like the idea of begin a P.E teacher but i don't want to do a P.E teaching degree as I want to have more options and like science form the human perspective.

Anybody got any advise?

you'll pretty much need to do a 'pe teachers degree' if you want to be a pe teacher. This can be just a 1 year course after completing a relevant degree tho

Got an interview next Wednesday at Liverpool Hope for Secondary RE PGCE.  Got to prepare for an interview and a presentation  :-\
Unfortunately, even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave behind a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time at Welkom, when she looked straight into my eyes and told me 'I love you'.

I have choice between 2:
1 - The use and importance of a religious artefact in a faith community
Or
2 - A contemporary issue and how you would relate to it in an RE lesson

Think I'll probably do the first one

Yeah first one is probably a good choice - i had something similar, having to bring in a resource and explain how i'd use it in a lesson :)

Good luck

Close friend of mine did a history degree and a PE PGCE.

I've been thinking about moving in to teaching, i just need convincing..
Worked as an LSA in Wales on my gap year and despite thinking 'all teachers must be clinically insane', when i was there, i now have a real desire to get into it.
Can anyone who has a few spare minutes, sum up the good points and bad points in their opinion?
I think i would probably be going for Secondary English, perhaps with an SEN specialism, the routes available to me would be a PGCE (but this would mean waiting until next year to get a place on a course and the then a year with little to no income) or GTP, where at least I would be earning something (almost equivalent the pittance I am on now in my job in advertising). Have you heard anything that would suggest either is better? Some seem to say they would recommend the GTP as you have more intensive teaching experience, whereas you feel a bit more 'thrown in at the deep end' when you leave a PGCE.
Any help and or advice would be gratefully received. It's a big decision to make for me, but at 23, I would rather take the leap now that regret it later.
x Thank you in advance.. x

I did a PGCE and you do feel a bit unprepared, but then I was rarely out of the pub in those days. That said, I tend to find PGCE people more 'rounded' than those who decided they wanted to be a teacher at 18. No idea about the other thing, sorry.
As far as SEN goes, you earn more. 'Nuff said.  :wave

Thank you, I think it will help me having been employed in the private sector for a while, I don't really understand the sense in going from school to college to uni and then back to school... (Mind you, i might well have done it like that if i had made up my mind sooner!)

like Hoody I did a pgce, but after doing two years on supply after finishing I didn't feel too much at the deep end when I got my first job, tho I must admit I often leave my marking undone for ages :P
Let us know if there's anything you wanna know and I'll try my best to answer any questions (I only did my pgce two years ago so not much will have changed, ish) :wave

Were you at this school before are are you just starting? If just starting you obviously won't be teaching, if you were there before I hate to say it but you really should have gotten in contact with your mentors/class teachers etc.
What is it you're training to teach again?
