Re Maeve

Spoiler
she got on the train with a bag of stuff she requested Felix get her, but when she got off the train she'd left it. Maybe that's what she was always programmed to do to get information and data out of the park.

Spoiler
I thought the bag had her new clothes and a gun in it? Up until that point she had a different outfit on.

That Aeden is going to be a busy bee, or fly, maybe?

a decent video for anyone with questions on the final episode (or season):-

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/K9AwvWGjJeQ?fs=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/K9AwvWGjJeQ?fs=1</a>

The same bloke also did a quality video on the 'timelines' of the season:-

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/w1JgaowjU90?fs=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/w1JgaowjU90?fs=1</a>

and an article explaining Maeve's decision on the train from Jonathan Nolan (was she in control or following her programming?) - http://www.vulture.com/2016/12/maeve-westworld-decision.html

Seems 'Alt Shift X', the man who does some superb Game Of Thrones videos (https://www.youtube.com/AltShiftX & https://twitter.com/AltShiftX), will also soon be doing videos on Westworld :)

Very very few people noticed it. I'm pretty sure most of the information from these videos come from someone who collates observations from reddit. There was a post on the sub-reddit about this just a little while before these videos were made.

Really enjoyed the show, seemed to get the best out of it's cast, I enjoyed the speeches and exchanges, the storylines, some of the characters, the thoughtful nature of the program, the way the season ended and very much look forward to series 2. Very few programs make me talk about what I have just seen afterwards (couldn't here becuase I watched on Sunday nights) even though I tend not to engage in theory speculation which seems to be way a lot of people enjoy it. I think it lacked a little something for GOT/Deadwood level greatness at the moment, the execution of it's twists tended to look a little ommph for example

Ok, an I stupid for never having noticed the steadicam thing?

So much going on in the episode, to take in, and to process - even on multiple viewings I imagine very few of us would've noticed (and like Redcap says, it took someone on reddit who is very attuned to that sort of thing to do so).

I had it down as her going against the mainland infiltration programming as a sign of newly found free will as a sign that she had found the centre of her maze (the emotion of wanting to find 'her child', to be a mother again - to not be alone in this pretty shit new world etc ) - I didn't notice the steadicam change at all - even watched it back and didn't notice :)

Some interesting stuff in here - some of which many of us possibly missed...

Thought it was an excellent and well-thought out series, which definitely makes you think and question things. Great acting for the most part.

My only real main gripe with the show itself was the ridiculous way in which Maeve came to power and 'escaped' with her host friends. I think they got the idea right there but it was extremely poorly executed - as others have said - through the use of 1) two bumbling host repairers who had no real reason to help her (well I am sure they did but it was terribly explained), 2) Godawful organisation of Delos in general throughout the series e.g. hiring of idiots or horny teenagers for host repair or Maeve walking around the place the whole time without being spotted, or a terrible professional 'QA' team being mowed down by two hosts at the end.

Also, my only real question is why Ford would be willing to sacrifice his life for the hosts? In the end, yes they are conscious but they are still robots who can be turned off by the click of a button. Was it a Jesus style sacrifice where he did it for their future betterment? But why? Who cares in the end if they live or die?

Just watched the last couple of episodes . Absolutely great stuff .

Kept out of this thread for obvious reasons and glad I did  :)

Last word on Hopkins - stellar acting from the man . Has an on screen presence that you just can't learn . Top man !

I really kind resent having to do spoiler tags for a trailer but thems the breaks
Looks like Bernard/Arnold is very much still on the human side, one way or another.

I wonder if this season will hinge on his inner conflict about siding with robots or humans.

It was in the sense that S1 finished Q4 2016 and S2 is starting Q2 2018.

Interesting. I wonder if it's some sort of a flashback. I imagine it's a scene that happens at the 'back end' of Westworld, rather than in West/Samuraiworld itself.

Seems an eternity when season 1 finished.

Like Gomorrah it really is worth the wait between season because you know the new season is going to be tv perfection.

Nice to see Alt Shift x doing Westworld videos, hopefully he'll be doing one after every episode like his GoT videos.

Love the sound track to Westworld!

My favourite cover is still A Forest - spotted it straight away, and it's creeping slow start is ridiculously perfect for Westworld

The original score for Thandie Newton's big scene is amazing too (and I've only just twigged it's a cover of Radiohead's Motion Picture Soundtrack)

I'm lucky I only just finished S1 in the last couple of weeks, so the wait won't be so bad as all of yours!

Exit Music For a Film was one of the best uses of popular music in TV that I've ever seen. You couldn't ask for a better climax to the season than that, and the music really made the scene.

This was genuinely one of the most interesting concepts for a show over the last few years. I kept thinking watching that first episode of the new season, this isn't really what I signed up for with this show. I dunno it isn't bad but I can't say I am particularly that interested in what is going on anymore.

How is it that Charlotte knew the park better than Bernard? How could she have an entire lab down there collecting guests' experiences and DNA without Ford knowing? Or did he know and just let Devos carry on without caring? Perhaps it added to his misanthropy and motivation to bring the hosts to consciousness?

Also, "doesn't look like anything to me". Wonderful stuff, expertly delivered.
