That's a shame, guess it's to do with Martin Freeman filming The Hobbit in New Zealand at the same time.

they would have known that more than a week before broadcast.

A week? Thought the original date was sept/oct? There would have been adverts all over the place if it was.

I thought it was supposed to start directly after the repeats. Nevertheless, sep/oct is unrealistic, if they knew it had a five month plus delay. After all, it's not a secret Freeman is doing The Hobbit at the moment.

Cant believe its been out since last year and I've only heard about it just recently. Watched all 3 episodes yesterday. I loved all the references to the classic Holmes novels throughout the show.

'Sherlock Holmes' is the first real character that I fell in love with when I was a wee little boy. It was actually the first novel that I ever read so it has a special place in my heart. Waited a looong time for a proper Holmes series to come out and I have to say its been worth the wait as Benedict is fantastic in the lead character. Much better than Robert Downey Jr's take on Holmes.

I didn't expect it to start for a few months anyway. They're still filming it for a start (Moffatt and Gatiss both been posting the odd snippet on Twitter) and I don't believe they were ever going to have the second half of Dr Who and Sherlock on at the same time.

Just watched the first 3 and I like them so far. Though the Study in Pink is a bit meh to me. And I thought Moriarty would be a bit older than Sherlock. Never thought that doofus is him. Still, can't wait to see A Scandal in Belgravia.
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him (Jurgen Klopp) as the next Liverpool manager
