R.I.P Ronnie

Nice guy.  I went to Lahti many years ago in what I think was our first game in Europe after the ban. To say we were shite would be an understatement.

We were all in Helsinki airport when the team arrived to fly back to Liverpool after the game and the players got some stick.. I got talking to Ronnie and pointed out fans were not only annoyed with the performance but annoyed the players just trooper off again the end without acknowledgment of those that had travelled. I noticed after that the players would acknowledge the fans. Not sure whether Ronnie had some bearing on that or even if my memory is skewed and that was a one off..either way he was a gent to talk to..

Awwww bollix :( What a tremendous servant to the club, the pure backbone to everything that was great about LFC. Rest in Peace Sir as it was an absolute pleasure to witness some of the best sporting days ever with you leading the line. Jeez the man probably had his hand on the tiller for 90% of our success. 44 trophies and still wanted more. Love that video and still laughing at Thompson complaining how he could not get a long sleeve shirt off Ronnie as he thought he needed to stay awake on the pitch. What a legend!!!!

Often underrated in his contribution to this club, on and off the field from 1952 to 1998

I would suggest we hold all other threads today

He was a fantastic, wonderful individual and servant to our club.

He is etched in our clubs' success during the 70s and 80s. I remember his pics in all our squad posters/stickers from the 80s. For me he was truly iconic.

RIP Ronnie, God bless your soul. YNWA.
