A true, true great. He was part of the fabric of this entire football club, he demonstrated and encapsulated everything it meant to be connected with our club. Not only that, he contributed and helped make the club what it is. They simple don't make them like Ronnie Moran any more.
The only anecdote I have given I'm from a much younger generation is going back a decade or so ago. I've said once or twice on here before but me and my mates used to go to Melwood a lot for autographs and to get leverage and watch the lads train. One day Ronnie Moran comes out of the front gate in a car and many people recognise him (I don't think he was working for the club then, but I know he used to visit frequently). Many recognised him and it wasn't just the older people too. He seemed a bit bemused and humbled that people actually knew who he was. Of course, he had time for everybody and signed lots of stuff and chatted away.
RIP Ronnie. A legend.
