This should be walk in the park and the way lost to us earlier will haunt them.
5-0 to the redmen!

As long as Henderson plays we'll be fine.

It doesn't you know mate. He's on 9 now and if he gets booked in either of the next two games, he gets a two match ban. I just hope our little lippy kick off bastard keeps his gob shut and his hands by his sides for the next two games. I fucking love him doing it all the time at refs and linesmen, and after the next two games, he can do it as much as he wants.

Oh yea. Just had a look into the rules. Why the second Sunday in April? I don't get the significance.

He is not really in danger of missing the Everton game, and that is the most important one.  That's a positive.

Bit of a dilemma with the starting 11. Think Henderson's energy and determination brings the needed impetus to the midfield.

But then again when Sturridge first came he really looked to be a certain starter. Best scenario is probably starting with Hendo and then Danny of the bench!

I am thinking 3-1 for this game :)

NA....
Rogers will take him off at the half. After he scores a hat trick.

So it seems like we're keeping the 4-3-3 with the Lucas-Gerrard-Henderson midfield for this match? Good call from Rodgers (if thats what we end up using).

If we do play front 6 of:

Lucas, Stevie, Henderson, Luis, Daniel, Phillippe

Then I think we will need to switch Henderson to the right hand side of the midfield, so he can do his 1.5 cover for Luis

                               Lucas

      Henderson              Gerrard

                                                Phillippe

                    Luis

                             Daniel

Like an A-Symmetric front 6 almost...

Pippo?
Nice one.

Carragher isn't playing? Thought he'd be nailed on to play.

Interested to see how West Ham approach this game. I remember them going to Old Trafford twice recently and narrowly losing 1-0 both times, unless I'm mistaken.

West Ham have lost 10 out of 15 away games this season...only Reading have lost more.

The encouraging thing about us at the minute is that even if we concede first, I now have confidence we can turn it around. So I expect us to grind West Ham down eventually. 4-1

Really? I think it could be one of those games where we dominated territory and possession, miss a million chances and then get done on a set piece. Pretty much what WBA did to us.

Downing at LB? Not sure if I'm happy with that, expected him to chip in with a goal today (I have foreseen it). Obviously Brendan doesn't feel comfortable with Wisdom and Johnson again.

Carroll's the exact kind of player we've struggled with all season so very happy he can't be used. I reckon 2-1 win, Henderson to chip in with another.

We go above Everton if we win and they lose at WHL. They have a game in hand but it's away to Arsenal which is helpful.

Could there be a tactical reason for this?

I don't know enough about west hams style of defending to know if it is to exploit some weakness or not.

I'm expecting a lot of long diagonal balls from west ham, so we will have to be able to deal with these and the second phase if the header is won.

Always good to beat that tit allardyce though, so I've egot my fingers thoroughly crossed

They will target Downing if he starts at left back.

My thoughts exactly.

I don't think he's done a bad job there, but he's bound to be caught out of position from time to time when it's not natural to him.

Also, is this the rebirth of skrtel as we have seen with other players this season?

If downing starts at left back it might be to try and keep them on the back foot, if they start vaz te on the right as predicted im not too sure he'd be willing to track downing every time  and i think brendan wants johnson on the right against jarvis for the same reason as jarvis was very poor tracking back against glen last time.
Although it would be nice having wisdom's height and heading ability in this game

This will be my fiftieth year alive. In that time I have seen many rivers and oceans.

 I have loved and lost.

Man has landed on the moon, the berlin wall has been destroyed. Wars have come and gone, and Fascism only survives in Sunderland. But West Ham have not come to Anfield and got three points. Not in my half century.

They have only drawn and lost.

Gonna be very tough, glad Skrtel's in there to deal with the aerial threat. I'd be happy to nick a 1-0.

Would rather Everton win so we can 6 pts off third. Regardless, we desperately just need to win and keep winning until the end of the season.

I wouldn't.  In my opinion its a straight fight for sixth, we win, they lose,we go above them with the derby to come.

It would be nice to have some realism on this board at times. They gave Tottenham a good game and won 2 of their previous 3. We struggle against physical teams and West Ham are one.

Every week it's the same shite on here about scoring loads of goals only to set yourselves up for disappointment. I think a hard fought 2-1, personally.
