Lallana has been piss poor recently because we've upset his rhythm by playing him as part of the front 3 when he was majestic in midfield. So by playing him in the front 3 he's had to change mind set and his game plan to suit his position then when we revert him back into midfield he is of course going to have to readjust. It was insanity moving our best player this season out of the position in which he was dominating.

Everything we did was proper shite. A few players need a kick up the arse. Diamond is shite. If the opposition defend we just cross it, and our strikers are shite.

Something that summed it all up - beautiful cross from TAA, not one player jumps for it.

I just keep repeating myself, how in holy fuck have we not strengthened this squad? How can a manager and his staff not see that the players are burnt out? Klopp's heavy metal football cannot possibly translate to the Premier League, half a season yes, but thats no good. He needs a plan b, has he got one? Who knows. I don't even think we'll get 4th spot this season with this squad. So poor from the manager and the club.

As others have alluded to, the squad depth isn't there. Wij, Hendo, Lallana is a good three but as soon as we have an injury the back up isn't good enough. Same with the front three, mane, Firmino, Coutinho good, beyond that very little. Same at centre back. We were injury free before December, a couple of injuries suddenly and we implode. It's clear we need more players and that wasnt going to happen in one transfer window, but we're playing a risky game at the moment and we're losing badly.

I'm sure we'll start the next game with Can in the middle and Sturridge up top.

You know, definition of insanity and all.

What has Can got on Klopp to keep getting picked

He's our best attacking player. Would you have taken him off? Replaced with Wijnaldum no less, who is developing something of a reputation this season for being a useless finisher. Besides, Sturridge was way worse than Coutinho

You do know he's coming back from ankle ligament injury right??!

I hope the manager learns his lesson from this season in regards to squad depth. Unfortunately at this rate he might not be able to attract the players he wants because of it.

Well done to Southampton, they were very good over the two legs - had a clear plan and executed it perfectly.

I am thinking there is a bit of hubris at our club. People can carry on about ethos, plans etc etc all they want, just sounds like excuses while big opportunities slip away.

Slow and lethargic midfield again.
Henderson and can need to learn that quick passing will be far more effective than there long searching passes that take a half minute to hit

It gets on my nerves to see him demanding the ball from the players and then do bugger all with it. He should be the one taken off because he wasn't using his brains. Just like Rafa taking SG off during a derby and criticised him for the same mistake.

Why is it difficult to admit we were outplayed, I'd even say comfortably so, by Southampton?
No shame in it, they are a good team.

We can lament our transfer policy and we can moan the ref and whatever else but it's simple.
We're not very good right now. They bitchslapped us in the first game and made us look toothless with their third choice defence in this game. We could have played for another week and not score and it's because we're kind or narrow and slow, like we might be missing a fast wide position player or something.

Tonight is not the night for cry-arseing except to highlight Martin Atkinson is a complete twat. But of course it's not his fault he didn't get to Wembley, it was a combination of battling against a great defence over 2 legs and us being snagged in a run of form that isn't conducive to great, intricate football. And that is what was needed, something snappy and wonderful, but we just ain't got it presently. Our boss stars, Phil & Bobby just couldn't find something for us. Lallana was quiet in too many spells, and the rest .... meh.

It's just another learning curve for Jurgen in terms of his long term objectives.

Southampton must win it now.

Deserve to go out. We've went downhill since Sturridge Emre Can was introduced back into the side. He adds nothing to this team.

It's always frustrating to lose, and the first leg was complete shite. But fuck me they tried tonight, and that easily could have been a penalty at the end. We're still in the FA Cup and we're still looking very strong for a top 4 finish.

Unless we sort ourselves out sooner rather than later we won't be finishing in the top 4. Can't afford to go on like this for much longer.

Thought we did ok actually, had a few chances, particularly in the second half which we should have scored from whilst Southampton didn't create much.

Unsurprisingly, we should have gotten, but didn't get, two penalties either.

Oh well, on to Wolves.

Sturridge should have done way better with that volley near enough in the six yard box. He could have waited for it to drop a bit more but wanted it to look more spectacular

What a ridiculous thing to say.

We lack leaders and men. Too many players trying to hid out there, not enough trying to grab the others by the scruff of the neck and have a fucking go.

Been the same for a while now, when we're not winning most of our players look like they don't give a shit. This was a Semi Final of a major cup, not an end of season dud match. Embarrassing.

Good luck to Southampton in the final, if, as expected, United get passed Hull tomorrow.

What the fuck has happened to Lallana
Hilarious when Lallana launched into Trent for a misplaced pass too.  Doesn't have the bollocks to pull Emre up for the two dozen he played tonight but he'll tear a strip off a youngster.

Bravo.

Waiting till the 75th min to make a change. Like seriously what the actual fuck. Could see it wasn't working but yes let's continue playing the same team. Should have had a pen but we done absolutely fuck all to deserve anything from that game.

But it's ok lads our squad is deep enough to see us till the end of the season even though we have to wait till the 75th min to make a change.

We had chances enough to win two games, the manager showed faith in his players to get it right. What a twat!

Wouldn't be surprised if you heard my echoes reverberating around Belfast Barny. Fucking shocking. Only got in to see the last ten minutes and the decisions from the ref were atrocious. Still, we should've done enough over the two ties to beat them. Going out for the Chelsea game next Tues for my birthday and really couldn't be fucked right now.

Over the course of 2 games Southampton were the better side. The score line of 2 - 0 flatters us really as it should have been way more to them.

And yet, we were denied two stonewall penalties which could have seen us win it.
