I dug deeper before outlaying.

This site is worth a peek pre-purchase.

49.5" Samsung UE50KU6020 - Specifications
http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/66c9785

Will be doing some more research,what seems to be the best to look out for is..
1st = OLED HDR 4k
2nd = FALD LED
3rd = Edge lit quantum dot

Must be 10 bit or its pretty much a waste of money upgrading to a 4k tv from a 1080p..especially if its under 55".

Can anyone here recommend a place for good TV Brackets, I want one that swivels and probably under £100, as spending loads on new extension at the minute *shock and awe*?

Okay, I need a new TV. I'd be prepared to spend around 500 Euros. What would people suggest to look for? Does it make a difference in that price range whether it's Full HD or 4K? Does it even make sense to buy a 4K-TV as I'm not looking for a huge one just about 49-inch or something like that. Would a smaller one even make sense in terms of it being 4K? Have no clue about what is important and what isn't. Don't really care about the quality of the picture or the sound. I just want a reliable TV I can use to watch TV programmes, play games on my console and watch stuff on youtube and netflix...

Is 4K really essential?

No, 4k is not essential as content is still very thin on the ground and 4k sets are notoriously poor quality in standard def.

An OLED set is far superior picture quality to an LCD set and there is a great deal on an OLED LG set  (model  55EG 910V) on sale at Richer Sounds in Chester for £985 including a 6 year guarantee at the moment.

This set cost over £2000 a year ago and the picture quality is superb.

If you wanted an OLED 4k TV the  latest model prices at the moment are around £1800 for an LG and £2200 for a Samsung.

They laugh at me because I'm different.

There is quite a bit now on skyq, Amazon and Netflix.  Once you have seen HDR content HD fails in comparison.
Have to disagree with the SD looking poor on 4k sets, I have a Samsung 60 KS7000 and SD looks good, the TV does a great job of upscaling it.
I would guess though a cheaper panel and it could look shit so it's all down to cost.

Content is king.

I remember when HD first came out, the pictures were breathtaking. Then they throttled and throttled the bandwidth until it's a shade of what used to be called standard definition.
Now they bring out 4k and UHD - but really, all they've done is allow greater bandwidth. Pictures look superb... but it's not necessarily the standard... just that they've allowed more bandwidth.

Sell some sets, then start to throttle the bandwidth again. Define a new standard; rinse and repeat.

I'm not getting caught out again. And most people can't tell...my family are almost completely unaware of artefacts and pixellation... just goes over their heads. It's a modern, living hell I tells ya.

Yep, watching lfc in standard def in black and white is better than Everton in 8k 😁
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

It is a nice tele but I would wait for black friday or even the christmas/boxing day sales before splashing that much on one,you would also get a 6yr guarantee if you got it from Richersounds.

The Sony BRAVIA KD49XE8004 has much of what that one does and is only £729

I was after a new monster sized tv for the man cave (conservatory that I've commendierd) and the x box1 x that I've pre ordered so it had to be 4K and not too expensive, I bought a Hisense 65 inch last year for the lounge and it's a really great tv but I was looking at the Samsung's as they really do look the nuts and I've got a Samsung phone so I could easily screen share. The choice out there and feature lists have gone crazy even since I upgraded last year, UHD,4K,HDR10, 10 bit or 8 bit panels, the lost goes on!
I went for the Samsung UE65MU7000 and it's incredible, I got a great deal from richer sounds too.
