So he's claiming never to have made the 60 day comment..

Have i lost the plot or did he not say that infront of the camera at the great big unveiling they held.

He is a  whopping liar. I really can't get angry anymore with the Yanks. It's Moores and Parry who make me sick when I think of them being wined and dined whilst they plotted to dump Sheikh Mo.

What a lying little motherfucker. He's denied pretty much the lot, but of course its all on film! Greasy little shit, wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.

SoS ought to dig up some clips and post them up alongside the interview.

Sorry mods but I've gotta put this in the main forum, deserves far wider attention.

“The third one was the stadium. I told Gillett the situation with the stadium angered fans, because Gillett himself had promised a spade in the ground in 60 days, and it still had not happened.

“He denied making this claim and said it was a ‘made-up quote by the media’and he would be interested to see such a quote.

Do you think those pretty pictures of a stadium came cheap?  They spent millions on those plans.

I might be wrong, but there was £10 or £20 million on the clubs books last year for the stadium designs. I would assume if they appear on the clubs book, the club has paid for them either in cash or via a loan and not the owners.

The c*nts getting dillusional.

I would agree he is dillusional with his figures:

From the 2007 books.

As a result of the takeover, and the subsequent redesign of the planned new stadium, a couple of exceptional items went through the clubs accounts.  The first was a complete writeoff of all costs that were capitalised to the balance sheet with regards to the original stadium design and it's associated planning permission.  This came to £10,323,000.

There was also an amount of £3.8m capitalised to the balance sheet relating to the revised stadium designs.

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=220943.0

But if you add in the £60 mil that is available for stadium work, that still doesn't add up to £100 mil.
Either we are a club of supporters or become a club of customers.

More or less said this in the Off the Pitch thread.

Especially about the £60m which should have only been drawn down for the start of the Stadium build.

Did they only bring the diggers in for excavtion on Stanley Park so that they could say they had started, and therefore get the money for the Stadium.

So, he makes an unsubtle comment regarding the manager, to a LFC Supporters Group representative, squarely blaming Rafa for the team's loss of form.

That same comment is then plastered on the front of the Liverpool Echo.

Then he's off to a meeting with same said manager to give him a new contract. (Together with his partner, for whom, of course, he can't speak.)

And he doesn't understand why our boardroom's a laughing stock?

I was in Zurich Airport the day before the Atletico away game & my plane had been delayed hours so went to one of these open bars within the concourse. I spotted someone looking just like Gillett, sitting in a lounge area with laptop & files by his side, and after staring over at him a bit I went over to speak to him.

As I got nearer, he saw me coming and by now I'm positive it's him, but when I said politely, "excuse me, is your name George Gillett", he shook his head and said no, then quickly excused himself, gathered up his papers smartish & moved away.

I went back to the bar but watched him, he had gone into a shop then after a few minutes he shot off down one of the corridors. There was a flight to Madrid about an hour later and I'm sure that's where he was headed because he was at the game the following night.

I'm not the biggest & ugliest & he could hardly have been safer, sat in the middle of a Swiss Airport but the sh*thouse did not want to identify himself for fear of me going off on one I suppose. I bet this type of thing has happened a few times & in the Crowne Plaza he couldn't escape so easily and from the "interview" he certainly sounded ill at ease with the attention. I like to think that it just goes to show to him he is now a public figure recognisable anywhere in the world & whether he likes it or not, he's bitten off more than he can chew.

All managers set up up a compact team in certain games, that includes the mancs, arsenal and a lot of europes finest.
If one of his teams has struggled to break down a team who has set up defensively and failed to win the game, what do you expect him to do . Start having a go at his players, i seriously doubt it.
Ive seen all the managers of the top 4 whinge in recent years about it, and ive seen all those sides set up defensively in certain matches

An accountant can't be telling the manager who to buy or not buy so long as he is working within his budget, can he?

i attended the recent mass meeting at Zeligs("Liverpool one" ) on feb 1st , and apart from a lad with an irish accent who beat me to it, who bravely stood up to ask for support for Rafa - the "spirit of shankly" in the form of Shanks "holy trinity" (Manager-Players-Supporters) was rare indeed, whilst the focus was understandably on showing the yanks they are not loved by LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS UNION members, I really felt that it would have been also appropriate solidarity with our (unjustly much maligned) Manager ; Rafa at a time when Fergie, opponent clubs, the media & even some of our "fans" have been publicly questioning his ability & character. I for one feel (& fear) that we may only realise how good Rafa is, after he has gone.
Shanks: "Some people believe football is a matter of life and  death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that. - At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it"

Although a lot of members like rafa, some don't.

SOS support the ROLE of manager, not the person.

It is the role of manager that is continually undermined, whether that is Rafa or anyone else.

your point is understood, its difficult , modern media & analysis of every single move made is extreme and causes pressures to question every relationship, but, loyalty strength & conviction are rare, and Rafa constantly stands by us , & rightly so....speaking as a MAN & a MANager my own experience says that its one & the same, if we support the holy trinity - we stand by that, manager & players too -at least during the season and inquests can happen after the season ends ,now especially, I really dont feel that we should be anything other than 100% on this,,

fancy a job as a tabloid editor? where do you get the word evil from? and it aint just the ferguson comments that i have a problem with its the total arrogance of him complaiing when teams come for a draw and clean sheet saying he has never done it here! he must have missed quite a lot of his early games in his liverpool managerial career

If you watched the video rather then reading about it you might see that he's very nonchalant about it.  He didn't burst a blood vessel and throw a chair, he just said that when teams come and play for a draw it makes things difficult.
"Because like Bill Shankly, on more days and nights than those expert pundits ever care to recall, he made the people happy."

"There was no other color in the middle of the field except the red of Liverpool"
