I (stupidly) cut the cable coming from my sky dish when I cancelled sky a few years ago.
Have seen a kit from Maplin that includes wire and connectors, is it simple to replace the old damaged wire with the new?

Piece of piss mate. Cut an inch or 2 off each cut end, trim back each end leaving the copper wire in the middle. Just less than half an inch will do. Stick one of these on each end

Screw them on to one of these

Cover in plenty of electrical tape and away you go. Should cost no more than £4, and no need to replace the whole cable.

One would recommend a zgemma!

Thanks, have watched some youtube vids and seems simple enough.

Just a few questions.  HD Movies and Sport doesn't work?

Secondly so I could cancel the current Sky completely just  keeping broadband?

If the feed ever gets scrambled its easy to fix?

HD sport/movies only work on the cable side, sat is SD

No HD.
Just cancel your sky and connect your dish to your zgemma, you will also need to connect to your router - hard wired preferred or you could use home plugs.

satellite ?
must be a setting somewhere or a weak tuner
if BT Sport 1 isn't working try Horror Channel/AMC/CBS Action/CBS Drama/CBS Reality to see if they are on as those are on same transponder

Set up my new mag 254 box yeterday and signed up for the 2 day Ruya trial for £3. Said I would receive my login details within 24 hours but have still not received them.

Anyone else gone with them, and if so how long did you wait for the login credentials?

Any ideas why the IP address would be changing on my zgemma box every so often? It's a pain when I want to use the openwebif, sometimes the IP is different to so I have to check.

I have a wireless connection and a wifi extender between the router and the box.

Either set a static address on the zgemma, or use the router settings to allocate a specific address to the box

Hi All,

Could someone point me in the right direction in terms of getting a gift/subscription please? I've bought a new box recently (zgemma) and have no idea where/how to acquire a gift/subscription. It'll be highly appreciated.

Just bought the new Zgemma H5.2S and going to attempt to set it up myself,

Anyone got any suggestions for a decent reliable Sky Sub supplier?

Right guys bought a Zgemma H5.2S near a week ago, spent hours trying to set it up and can't even get the box to flash and I am at my tether with it and about to lash it. Getting proper frustrated now with it.

Is there anyone in Liverpool that anyone knows of that I can just take it too, pay them to set it up for me, add the line ect and then I'll be good to go?

Suggestions appreciated

Stepping stone to eventually turning sat service off. After all, the Astra system has bandwidth limits for 4k etc...

Anyone know anything about installing a sky dish and positioning it correctly?

Moving in to a new home and will have to mount a dish and position it to pick up channels for my zgemma

If it's just pointing at sky not difficult. Use dishpointer.com to get a rough bearing. Stick the receiver on a strong channel. Waggle around til you get a signal. Stick it on a weak channel until you still get a signal. Tighten up.

http://linuxsat-support.com probably got the best detailed instructions.

Stepping stone in a long line of steps.

They're using internet to broadcast to homes, to be able to use internet as a complete dish replacement they'd need UK broadband infrastructure to be miles ahead of where it currently is.
