Sturridge needs a goal and Origi desperately needs minutes. Ideally you'd like to see something of Ings, but that will probably be off the bench.

Would he start both Sturridge and Origi?

Karius / Clyne / Matip / Lovren / Moreno / Can / Wjinaldum / Lallana / Coutinho / Sturridge / Origi would probably be my team.

We have no midweek games until the next round of this competition, which I think is the last week in November/start of December, so unless players are showing signs of fatigue, we should go strong.

I'd rest Milner because of how important he is in that position, and I'd sit out Firmino and Mane ahead of Palace at the weekend, because Sturridge and Origi need goals/minutes.

I don't understand why there has to be lots of changes, unless it's to give others minutes.

I am not big on rotation either but its quite clear that Moreno, Can, Origi and Sturridge need some minutes to either build up fitness or form. It makes sense to bring in Mignolet and Klavan and one of Lucas, Grujic or Stewart need minutes otherwise they will never get a game. I think we will see 6 or so changes from the team on Saturday.

Mignolet starts. Would expect 3 or 4 more changes.

I'd leave Firmino, Coutinho and Mane at home. I'd say Milner too but he had a nice break during the international fixtures.

Migs
AA - Matip - Klavan - Moreno
Can
Lallana - Gini
Sturridge - Ings - Mane

Bench: Karius, Coutinho, Origi, Firmino, Lucas, Milner, Clyne

Solid XI and bench that.

Edit: Switched Gini and Can. Think he'll start further forward.

And does Mignolet now become our cup goalkeeper? I'm not sure I see the point

Same reasons every team that plays their backup goalkeeper in the cups does it.

I think Mignolet, Klavan, Moreno, Lucas and Origi definitely need to play. They're our first choice 'backup' players and we need to give them some minutes to stay sharp and motivated.

After that it's down to Klopp to decide how many of the first choice guys are at 100%. Also given their injuries recently Clyne, Lallana snd Gini need to game to keep building themselves back up to their peak.

I think we'll go in stronger than Spurs whatever side we choose. So should win if we perform.

Randall Lovren Klavan Moreno
                     Lucas
              Can           Grujic
   Mané                               Studge

Since Ings, Grujic, Ejaria AA and Stewart were all pulled from the U23 match the other night they'll be bound to be involved somehow, and I'd like to see fringe players like Origi, Moreno, Lucas and Klavan get run outs too. They're probably going to need to step up at some point so may as well test them against strong opposition now, and the first teamers can always come on if it looks hairy. Give Gigi 60 minutes to ease him back in after the injury.

AA         Klavan          Lucas           Moreno

                        Stewart

would have loved sakho to start but then need the stars to align for that to happen. seems to still be frozen out.

my line up

               Mignolet

AA     Lucas     Klavan    Moreno

    Grujic     Emre      Gini

Origi      Dings     Sturridge

A squad strong enough to win. Get Origi, Dings and Sturridge some game time. Same with emre and gini after their injuries.  Lucas to give way to Lovren or matip if we feel that their threat on the wings is too big.

Bench would be Randall, Wilson, Mane, Coutinho, firmino, Karius.

I saw him at Tranmere yesterday playing for the U23's. He put in a good shift and battled well. However, being there when youngsters were pulled shows how far he has to go before he plays for us again. Inglethorpe and Ljinders were there so should put in a good report - if asked!!

Personally would only start 2 of Ings, Origi and Sturridge. not quite enough width if all three start, would probably have Ings off the bench getting around 30 mins.

Nope. Was an article in the Echo talking about a bunch of players being taken out of U23 squad (TAA, Stewart, Ejaria, Grujic, Ings) for this game, but Sakho wasn't one of them.

Hopefully he now realises he has to accept a loan in January, if the club can't get a buyer for him then.

The way we've been playing though our fullbacks play so high up the pitch those wide forwards tend to drift into more central areas anyway, they key is all those 3
players are capable of drifting out side and being comfortable but they are also comfortable centrally. My problem with those 3 as the front 3 would be a lack of creativity, they're all basically goal scorers so as you say i'd start 2 of them and probably Lallana as the 3rd to add that creativity.

                  Migs
    AA  Lovren  Klavan  Moreno
                  Can
            Grugic  Gigi
       Studge  Ings  Origi

Not sure about Lovren or Origi tho. Thoughts?

Taking my little girl (7) to her first competitive game tomorrow. Got her a shirt and scarf - she's absolutely buzzing and apparently hasn't shut up at school today about going. :D Really hope the lads can get a result for her/us. I always remember my first game at Anfield (Fowler 3-0 v Arsenal) and there's literally no better feeling than winning at your first game. I remember seeing the KOP for the first time and being completely mesmerised by it, seeing the passion from everyone around me when we scored, I was hooked for life. It'd be great if hers is a special performance too and we get the win.

Come on lads, don't let me down!  :scarf
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.
