It may be my imagination, but players aren't meant to be surrounding the ref any more, right? So why is that c*nt Herrera still on the pitch?

Nervous stalemate. Would say they edged the first 20-25 mins, and we had the latter part. Missing Gini to keep the midfield ticking over..

Slow as fuck, no tempo at all. Can looks like a hippo out there.

Every 1st touch in the first 20 mins was bouncing 10 yards away. Don't think we've recovered our composure.

Sturridge has done nothing to help us, I'd hook him.

Not a good half for either side. We need to get Mane and Sturridge more involved. Firmino and Coutinho are the only attacking players who get on the ball.

What's there to discuss? Boring game so far. Don't think we're getting much luck with Sturridge at the minute, and would like to see Lallana and Coutinho Moved further forward in the second half (if Lallana is fit enough)

Should have booked Ibrahamavich, and yellows should have come out much earlier. Everytime we got the ball they fouled us.

Boring game, think we had a good 5-10 minute spell near the end.

But everyones first touch has been poor, and we were second best to all the second balls for first 25 minutes.

Neville a bit too eager to say United will be much the happier. Disappointing first 20 for us but as the half went on they dropped deeper and deeper and we worked the ball better.

Just need to make sure we don't switch off at the back and keep turning the screw. Might see Lallana for the last 20/25 if he's got the legs for it.

Well they stopped us efficiently from playing out from the back, but we were way too poor. Too slow and rigid, passes went nowhere and runs went the wrong direction, etc.
To be improved massively if we're planning to win by 3 goals at least!

It's 0-0 at half time at Anfield against one of the biggest sides in the league.

We've been frustrating but we have a very good manager who will react.

Kop end second half, lots for Jurgen and his team to sort out.

Switch Emre with Henderson. We're afraid to take a risk and sometimes in these games you have to be prepared for a such thing.

Woeful football from us this half, expecting better 2nd half.

Please.

What you can learn from these 45 mins is that Gini and Lallana are our heartbeat and the very reason why we looked so fluid so far this campaign. Not enough courage on the ball from Can and Henderson first half , hopefully it`ll be better in the second.

I don't know why anyone expected this to be any different than what it is. Cagey, sloppy, very congested in the middle.

United are pressing us well and nullifying our strengths and space. We've done better as the half went on, but we were making some poor passes and decisions, Emre looks rusty and a bit ponderous on the ball when we're in transition. Dani with some poor touches, along with Firmino. We can do better, but it's going to be marginal. We've dealt with long balls, crosses well so far, but that is my only concern for the remainder of the match

For us to create better chances, we have to be quicker and sharper on the ball and persistent.

Even match. Not much to discuss. Henderson should have been carded. Sturbridge a bit sloppy with few touches, Pogba never a 100m euro player

Can see us nicking this

Hendersons wasn't even a foul.

Sturridge not getting anything. Can slowing one or two things down too much. Utd have set up well but aren't doing much either.

Hope Lallana gets some minutes. We need him.

They're cutting off our passing lanes, and Emre is finally getting to the speed of the game and realising that sometimes he just needs to get on his bike and break through the press. Once we do that, they are resorting to backs to the wall stuff. I think we need a long shot or two just to keep them on the edge. I think we'll get better in the second half and hopefully, we can nick a goal somewhere. They're playing with incredible discipline and any changes offensively will take that away.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. c*nts should have like 4 yellows. I could see in my mind's eye Taylor giving Henderson a yellow at the end there, even though 90% of the cynical fouls have been from United. Props to him for booking Young

Boring game offensively.

Can had a slow start but grew into it.

Sturridge has had nothing at all.
