We really struggled to deal with their high press. City and Chelsea did too but came on strong in the second halves of their games so I expect us to as Swansea tire. Lovren, Henderson, Clyne and Wijnaldum all struggle with pressure to varying degrees and that really hindered our build up play. Coutinho having to drop deep was actually a godsend, as soon as he went there we started getting into attacking areas with frequency and with some better cutbacks could have gotten something.

We can do this, 2-1 Liverpool

This is the crumb of comfort I am holding on to. There is no way on earth Swansea have the fitness to keep that pace up through the second half, it's not their natural game. As long as our lads know they have it in them, that's all that matters. I wouldn't want to be in that dressing room just now though, Klopp looked absolutely furious throughout that half.

Apparently they have changed the rule.......if any part of your body is on-side then you are onside. Must have just brought that rule in for this game. Also a push in the box isn't a push but outside it is. Anyone who falls in the box after being pushed should be booked. Surely everyone knows these new rules.

A goal down (from their 1st and only corner, shocking), a Lallana down, & playing far from our best.

Lets have faith though, final few mins of the half we actually started looking a bit better. Hopefully we carry that on into the 2nd half.

started badly, too many misplaced passes, and then trying to be too elaborate, matip trying long field pass, milner trying to head the fucking thing, lovren trying to cover milner, it just resulted in constantly turning over possession to them and them running at our defence caused all kinds of problems. Took us too long to get a foothold in the game with phil moving into midfield and finally we had some semblance of possession, movement and forward play.

Just keep moving the ball and the players around, keep it simple, chances will come.

Their goal was offside. We should have had a pen. The 2nd defender makes contact with Sturridge. Similar to the late, late Benteke pen at Palace last year. That been said for 27 mins we were fucking awful in all aspects of football.

So many playing under par today.. Feel like there are some players more suited to such games in midfield. Would have liked to see Can in the DM role and Hendo in Wijnaldums role. Dont feel that Wijnaldum contributes with anything in this game. Hope it changes though.. Damn internationals coming up too.

Tired of being the worst set piece defending team bar Swansea, funnily enough, in the league.

He doesn't like a tackle does he? First port of call is always to try and give the ball to someone else, even if he is in a good position - pass responsibility to someone else. Needed a player who could roll up his sleeves today.

Thought his balls had dropped after that Chelsea performance, but this first half was shocking.

Almost so standard for us, get a run going, beat some good sides and a wank side at home even, then go away to a relegation battler and start slow, sluggish and complacent whilst conceding early from a set piece.

Sturridge goes down under the exact same challenge in the box and it's "not enough for him to go down. Deserved booking"

For what it's worth I thought neither were fouls, odd that they were treated differently by the ref and the commentator though.
