When was the last time we won 4 on the Trot ?

Nervous for this. I just want 3 points especially with city likely to drop points

How are City 'likely' to drop points?

City at Spurs next Sunday - so a draw is possible?

And of course City will drop points - since they are still to play us twice

Did you also see anything but a win for us vs Burnley :P

No and I think most people expected us to win. The difference now is that we now have several games behind us and have been playing well. Against Arsenal we started off poorly, came back into the game with a bang and then let them back in. Against Burnley we didn't look sharp; we tried everything but we just weren't good enough to break them down. We played better against Spurs but again we weren't on the top of our game.

I now think that we have improved since our first three games so I expect us to win and to win comfortably.

There's no certainty in that. Spurs are on a CL hangover and are without Kane.

We are a joy to watch and in all my years of watching Liverpool I am honestly struggling to remember a time when I expect us to score 3 or 4 every game.

Good summery, thanks, but 2013/14 we were scoring loads. Trouble was we were still winning matches by a single goal. 2008/9 we were also quite free scoring and really crushed some good sides.

Nine wins by a single goal (7 of them in the first 10 games), sixteen by two or more.

Hmm, I remember the end of the season better when we were really smoking. For the record we scored 3 or more in 18 out of 55 competitive matches that year. Yes, that certainly isn't expecting it every match, but we were top scorers in the league (by 11 goals) and had the highest goal difference that season.

As good as we have been lately, it is a little risky to start saying we will win this game easily.

We still ship the odd silly goal and the Burnley result is still there in the memory. Add to that we have a pretty wretched record at Swansea.

If we get an early goal then I can see us scoring a few. But I don't think it will be quite as easy as some are expecting.

I suspect we are the team nobody wants to face at the moment....especially if like Swansea you are struggling and under pressure.

Start right and this should go the way of Hull......

Looking forward to it massively and expect a very similar team to the Hull game, with maybe Lovren back in.

Happy days right now and we need to keep the momentum going. Something special could be brewing for our club.

If we want to be the best, operating in the top 3 of the league then we have to take the pressure that comes with it. If we work our socks off, and execute our game
we could win this game like the last one. Do that. Execute the training. Then prepare for Man United - I fear that game only because if we smash them suddenly everyone and his dog are talking about us! :)

Yes, if we want to push on then there are no excuses for sloppy displays. Ok there may be the occasional poor result but in general we should be winning matches like Swansea.

So the question is -- to Sturridge or not to Sturridge? Hard to change a team that dismantled Hull. Think he will start on the bench.

Considering Swansea will be trying to pass the ball out from the back I'd stick with Firmino as we're going to need his work-rate cutting off passing lanes and pressing.

Looks like it's Guidolin's last game in charge before Rhodri's brother takes over. :D

I see us taking control straight from the off and having this game sewn up by HT,pity there is another stupid waste of time international break after this game :butt

Same team as the Hull game hopefully.

3-0 Lallana Gino and Firmino with the goals.

I think we were unfortunate but sloppy against Burnley. We gave them an early opportunity which they took well and then they sat back. I think they had about 25% possession which just shows how much of the ball that we had but couldn't score. For me the Burnley game was a wake-up call for us to tighten up our midfield and defence.

The thing is if you get their danger men out of the game, or get a decent lead by the time those danger man have actually done anything half the battle is basically won. Burnley was unfortunate, in the way that they did exactly to us what we've been doing to other teams and it just messed us up completely. Against Hull, Snodgrass was the danger guy. His set piece delivery is really good, and he can damage teams with those. In fact, he did in that game too; he put in a wicked corner that was incredibly difficult to deal with and which they scored from. But before he even had an opportunity to take a set piece we were comfortably up in the game. Did the same thing to Hazard and Costa. Same thing in this game. Klopp will know who makes Swansea tick and who their dangerous players are.

Guidolin is on the verge of the sack by the sound of things. If we go a goal or two up in the first half their players could well down tools. There's an international break after this game and that's often a time when a team will make a managerial change to allow the new boss a bit more time to settle in (we replaced Rodgers with Klopp at the same international break almost a year ago). The Swansea players won't be ignorant to what is happening and I think we should try and put the game to bed as early as possible. If we go a goal or two up will the Swansea team really be inclined to bust a gut for a manager who will probably be sacked afterwards?

Swansea aren't a bad team and they have a couple of players who can cause problems but if we play near our best then I can't see anything but a win.
Good post. Agreed with everything you said about Swansea. Some issues for us too though:

- not very succesful at their ground
- player form lasts 3-5 games, many of our lads have just peaked, we might not be that great than in the last couple games
- Sakho saga most likely not helpfull to dressing room harmony
- Klopp showing all his cards to Goudolin on MNS  :D

Still, as you said, if we play near our best and score first we should be grand.

I can see the City game as being quite deflating for Swansea. They put in their best performance of the season by an absolute mile and still ended up losing by a couple of goals. And now they have arguably the 2nd best team in the league so far coming to visit; it wouldn't surprise me if a few of their players are just thinking, 'whats the point?'.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway ;D Although I think we'll win either way.

I reserve any confidence for this game as history has shown us to be prone to having a poor result against a smaller or struggling team after a great run.

Go two up by half time then I'll relax.

Same for me.

Too much media attention on us this week.

Anything other than 3 Points. Media will start questioning klopp on how he lost concentration etc etc.

I remember us losing against Newcastle after dismantling city at their home. Newcastle were struggling badly that Time.

Swansea did play well against City
