Benteke next week, gulp

Apparently we had him nailed in training last year, so Kloppo couldn't figure out why when game situation came we fell to pieces

Not sure if it's been linked yet, but Dan Kennett's infograph on it is quite shocking

We're actually very good at cutting crosses out from the source, but we just can't win headers when they do come in.

We only win 41% of headers in our own box!

I think 9 games is what you would call a statistically insignificant number, with regards to drawing good conclusions in this area.

Here are some alarming stats from the fledgling Karius 'era':

Across the last four league games, a total of just thirteen free-kicks and corners have been sent into the Liverpool box, yet these have resulted in seven shots and three goals.

This means that opposing players have beaten us to the ball and had a shot every 1.86 deadball situations.

Bear in mind that over the preceding 43 league games, when we were far from great at defending set pieces, it took 3.97 dead ball deliveries per set piece shot in our box.

Hopefully it’s just teething troubles, but right now those facts are mightily concerning ahead of a trip to Selhurst Park.
