It would have been a nightmare
our european away regulars have been to Russia and the Ukraine and christ knows where....I think they could've got down the east lancs rd without too much bother.  If you meant it would've been a nightmare for their supporters, then good...tough shit.

It was a nightmare for us vs Augsburg. I didn't think they'd get special treatment, but shows how naive i am.

Just to point out, I'm not in favour of 6pm kick offs, they're a terrible idea.  But once clubs have been made to have them, how does one club get treated differently? That's what I don't get.   We all have to have them or (much better idea) no one has to have them.  I suppose it begs the question, why don't other clubs appeal? Did we, does anyone know?

I don't know how they have swung it but they have.  Course we could have all got to Manchester for 6pm but I am glad it's changed .

Fair enough mate. If you're going I get why you'd prefer it.

Just gets on my nerves. Thought post-fergie the bias/influence would be less.

I recall Ged Poynton saying we wouldn't be able to get enough stewards there for a 6pm ko as they are not only employed by the club but most have other jobs too - must have been Sparta. Not sure if we formally appealed, but know we had to have it then. Maybe you just needs friends in the right places   :-X

I thought most of it was to do with Trafford Council, rather than United.  Something to do with it being St Paddies day (extra traffic, policing, etc).

Ties in what another lad said on here yesterday about us maybe getting a lower allocation if it stayed at 6pm, least we will get the full 3100 now although that's still too low

Dont take this the wrong way mate but it's nothing to do with Fergie or being bias. United supporters group MUST raised the issue with the club, who agreed. Trafford council also raised their concerns to the club and between the 3 parties, they requested a change in KO time. Only reason it hasn't happened with any other team in Europa, is because no one has complained. Fair play to them and it's done me a favour because I'm at an exhibition in Coventry until 4, so would have been pretty fucked. 6 o'clock KO times are farcical.

Fair play to United for sorting the kick off time , surely saves most people leaving work early.  It would have been a nightmare at that time .

It would have been spot on a 6pm ko.

We asked for the Sparta Prague game to be moved in 2011, the answer was no. Fuck them, 3 trains from London an hour & flights & they can't get there for 6pm.

As they say "We are Man Utd, we'll do what we want", and the soft arses let them do just that.  Can just imagine Trafford Council's representation, " It is St Patrick's Day and we want our fans to have another two hours drinking to get really pissed before we play the Scarsers"

Looking at what tickets are on sale and when, I'd expect the TO to announce the selling criteria today with the 1st sale on Monday @ 0815 and the 2nd sale on Tuesday @ 0815.

Tickets purchased for this match may count as priority for any future away matches within this competition; however this does not guarantee that tickets for future European away matches will be available to all who apply.

Supporters are strongly advised to retain ticket stubs.

No fuckin backbone LFC YET AGAIN! 5% is fuckin 3700 approx and we get shafted with 3117 (4.12%). Manc twats. Yet we give them more than 5% (5.9%). Fuckin typical.

In simple numbers there will be approximately 400 more of them in Anfield than there should be and approximately 600 less of us in Old Trafford than there should be.

Why have these competition rules on the percentage of capacity that must be offered to visiting teams if they are never adhered to?!
