5yr old Sons first game sat ??
« on: January 25, 2017, 06:00:34 pm »
Hi all.
My Lad is asking more and more about the game and seeing a game. Now I can get hold of an adult ticket in the kop this sat and take him with me but is it wise on these counts:

He possibly wont last the full 90 nefore loses concentration.

Is he allowed to sit in a adults seat (next to me).

Is that wise given his age and what he could be exposed to aspecially for the first time. Noise, words he hasn't heard before etc etc lol.

I can fill the seat either way and save his 1st game for another time.

Cheers lads

He can sit in the seat next to you no problem, I think the rest of it you can figure out yourself.

Take him, he's got to start sometime.  If anything it'll be you who will have a different experience and maybe need to make adjustments to your normal matchday routine but you'll have a boss time taking your lad for the first time.  It's what all Dads dream of, surely  ;D

If he's so excited to go that he's pestering he won't notice the noise or naughty words and really, you'll never protect him from them anyway if you want him to love the game like you do.  It's par for the course.

As for staying the distance and/or losing interest, if there's plenty of goals it should keep him captivated.

I take mine, he's six now but he was going when he was five. I tend to stand him up on the back of the chairs infront when others are standing

Naughty words eh, well it's one of them things isn't it, cant protect them forever and as long as they know there wrong and not to use them...

As for concentration, well from my experience he does tend to ask questions not necessarily related to the game he's watching but that's just young kids for you, in the main he's pretty focussed on the game.

And yeah he's fine in an adult seat

Took my daughter to her first game against Olympiakos as a 6yr old in the Kop.   Needless to say she has been hooked ever since, hope your lad follows suit.

I don't think you will have any problem.I brought my daughter when she was 7 and she loved it.I would advise you to bring a rucksack with extra clothes ie. tracksuit
bottoms to put on over his jeans or if he has skins get him to wear them underneath instead, little arms and legs can get very cold!
If the section is standing put him standing on his seat and keep an arm around him ,If he sits use the rucksack to act as a cushion.
Bring treats snacks also and get there early .Enjoy the day !!
The s*n so full of shit you could not even use it to wipe your arse
