Yep, if he'd stayed up he'd have won by about 30 lengths.

bookies dream that

I was thinking that but who really would've included it for the price? There's zilch value. I had the family watching it just to see Voutours form going round. I put a small bet on Franklin and kept the docket just for the sake of it. Would be interesting to see how much they made from that. Any serious punters will have been laying it, if anything. Casuals would have been listening to their mates and told to avoid, if anything had a few quid just because they casuals. Big shock though.

A handful of you had Ballyoptic for a useful 20 points on a tough day

note: Y2w902 posted his selection as Ballymoney. I don't know whether he actually meant Ballyoptic or Ballydine who both featured in this race.  I will class his pick as a NR so he gets the SP fav which finished 2nd, so he gets 10 points :)

16:40 Aintree
Full result

1st  5 Ballyoptic (IRE)  9/1 ......................15+5= 20 Points
2nd  7 Bellshill (IRE)  11/2 f ...............................10 Points
3rd  12 Potters Legend  16/1 ....................7+5 = 12 Points

The last race, surprisingly saw just one very wise (and very Handsome) punter pick the Mullins trained and ridden Bacardys for 15 points.  It SP'd at 15/2 so missed the 5 bonus points by half a betting point. :no

Not arsed about missing me bonus points to be honest coz I had Ł50 on it!!

A load of you had the second place for 10 points so its a hollow victory really.

17:15 Aintree
Full result

1st  4 Bacardys (FR)  15/2 .............................15 Points
2nd  5 Battleford  7/2 ....................................10 Points
3rd  11 The Minch (IRE)  100/1 .............7+15 = 22 Points

Here are todays scores for your perusal.  alow scoring day compared to some but everyone managed to chalk a few points up at least

Top DAY2 scorer is Ohweloveyebaldyhead with 45 points. Comprising of 2 winners and a second.  The dangerous RedEire and Salgar were close behind with 44 points.

Any score queries let me know by PM,

At first glance I think Red85 retains his overall lead by a couple of points from RedEire but full leaderboard will be up shortly.

Another very low scoring round with a handful of players getting 7 points and 1 person (Mag Hull) getting 2nd place.

Barney was the only one who picked that winner and grabs 15 points

End of DAY 2 see's Red85 retain his place at the top but has had his 3 point lead cut to now just 2 points by RedEire.

Tomorrow promises to be a cracker as any one of at least 20+ players could take this down tomorrow with the right picks and NAP. Hell, I could even win this myself which is VERY rare.

Don't forget there's also a 10 point bonus for picking the National winner tomorrow which goes on top of any other odds bonus points scored.

We have 39 players left going into Day 3 and I hope we can get all 39 in tomorrow so try and post your picks tonight or tomorrow please... even if its any old shite :)

Thanks for doing my number 9/6 selections Pete but the methodology hasn't really worked out lol.

Anyhow we returned home OK from Dortmund, absolutely knackered but well worth it.

I will post my selections early tomorrow, off to bed now!

if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

Having Welbeck try and mark Pirlo is ridiculous. It's like trying to get a golden retriever to stop a tennis ball machine.Because one is a machine designed for a very specific purpose that it is peerless at, and the other is a fucking dog.
