New Balance have kept the new kit under lock and key due to leaks the previous years. Was told, this one isn't it.

What, exactly, is it you don't like about it?

The thick white collar and sleeves and the badge.  Should I love it just because it's a classic kit of the past?  Because I don't like that one either!

I'm quite into the kits, I don't know why, so I know what you mean, but turning out in white shorts would make it an actual Man U strip and that's kind of... a step too far for me...

I get what you mean, but the mock up earlier actually looked like a United shirt and that would be a step too far for me.
If it's similar to this one then I think the white shorts would look alright as part of a retro kit, until Shankly we had white shorts as part of the home kit. Now if we were to have black socks, that would be too much!

Now this I really like. I don't know if it's just a fan mock-up or a leak of the actual design, but I think it's really good. I know some people don't like collars on their football shirts, but I don't have too much of a problem with it. And there seems to be a subtle halved design on the shirt, with two different tones of red, which would reflect our history to some extent (what with our first kit being a halved shirt).

If it is a mock-up, someone's put some real thought into it. I've already mentioned the halved design but the long row of buttons is reminiscent of our first shirt. Either someone at New Balance or some talented fan has put some work into this.

We tried retro the round white collar look back in 98. Looking back it was pretty awful, I only bought it cos I hadn't owned a Reebok shirt. Spent my student pennies on getting my name on the back so couldn't get rid either!

Don't think it works without going full retro and getting rid of all logo etc. Better off just selling the retro shirt and be done!

Dave Phillips on twitter seems to suggest that we wont have the TM or (C) to use the coat of arms and thus will just be usual LFC logo with some kind of commemorative symbol on there.
