There's not a lot wrong with what he's said, other than the fact he rates himself more than most people do.

Well he's right about England not winning anything. And he's right about England having a mentality that dates back to the 'glory days'. Although, the media won't take any notice because it's Joey Barton, they'll just slate him saying it's another one of his bitter rants. If he hadn't have come up with that utter garbage about being England's best midfielder than this article would have been a bit more credible. Now it will just be consigned to the large file that contains numerous other examples this type of nonsense.

You can see him in 30 years time being that sad old man in his local trying to tell everyone about his time as a footballer whilst everyone tries to avoid him.

Its a fair assessment on English football but the fact he considers himself the best in the country should have the guys with the padded cells after him.

If he used the time he spent stubbing lit cigars out on youth players eyes, kicking shit of of random people outside maccies, staying in jail and talking to French football magazines he might just be the best English midfielder

But as it stands he will always be a talentless thug who has no right to be on a football field

He's spot on about Gareth Barry, I refuse to watch any England games while that pile of horse shit is playing in midfield. Let alone being given the captains arm band. It annoys me that the past 2/3 England managers have continued to pick him and that Rafa wanted to bring this cart horse in to play for us a few years back.
