Psychoville - New BBC2 comedy from Shearsmith/Pemberton...
« on: June 19, 2009, 02:19:07 pm »
Surprised there isn't already a thread on this. Started last night on BBC2 at 10.00pm.

From Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, starring them, Dawn French, and a few other recognisable faces. In the same mould as The League Of Gentlemen (infact it may aswell be a new series!). Just watched it on the iplayer and it was fucking brilliant!

Deeply, deeply disturbing in places (especially the scene with the serial killer fan and his mum) as you would expect from them. Pretty creepy aswell.

You can watch it here if you missed it...

Loved the LoG but was a bit sceptical about this.

But i really enjoyed it. Nicely dark as expected and the story already has me hooked and i cant wait to see how in pans out.

There are some VERY strange characters in this also as expected..

Reece Shearsmith as Jelly the Clown is quality ;D

Sadly I missed the first episode but my Dad tipped me off about it. Undecided after that one, I don't think it's as good a TLOG but it is pretty intriguing.

Really suprised at the lack of coverage this program is getting. I think its fantastic, especially after tonights episode, it is getting really interesting. Some clues are starting to come out now, and really starting to get attached to the characters, really, really good so far ;D

i really think this is a brilliant TV program

the BBc should start making more than 6 eps a series this needs at least 12

Actually, there are 7 Episodes.

I feel Thursdays was an extra to be honest because it didnt really advance the story or plot but it was very very funny.

Are you sure there's only 6 episodes? Thursdays was all about David. So I'd imagine each of the other characters will get their own dedicated episode, so that's Dawn French, The Blind fella with the toys, Mr Jelly/Jolly and the psychic dwarf plus they'll have to tie-up whose blackmailing them all. So that's another 4 episodes surely?

If that's not the case then I don't think it'll be concluded this series and there'll be a second.

That wouldn't be hard. To be honest I thought Jeremy Dyson was the real genius behind L.O.G but this has been that good it's surprised me, that other thing Reece Shearsmith was in were he played a doctor was a bit shit and I feared for this on the basis of that but it's proved me wrong, and it's insulting to compare them to those talentless unfunny twats*
