I've been thinking about moving in to teaching, i just need convincing..
Worked as an LSA in Wales on my gap year and despite thinking 'all teachers must be clinically insane', when i was there, i now have a real desire to get into it.
Can anyone who has a few spare minutes, sum up the good points and bad points in their opinion?
I think i would probably be going for Secondary English, perhaps with an SEN specialism, the routes available to me would be a PGCE (but this would mean waiting until next year to get a place on a course and the then a year with little to no income) or GTP, where at least I would be earning something (almost equivalent the pittance I am on now in my job in advertising). Have you heard anything that would suggest either is better? Some seem to say they would recommend the GTP as you have more intensive teaching experience, whereas you feel a bit more 'thrown in at the deep end' when you leave a PGCE.
Any help and or advice would be gratefully received. It's a big decision to make for me, but at 23, I would rather take the leap now that regret it later.
x Thank you in advance.. x
