Nice guy? Ha. Did you see him driving away in his shades smiling, and laughing? Looks gutted doesn't he? Oh and the English mafioso otherwise known as the LMA has come out and said that Hodgson was sacked rather than resigning. Protecting his £3m compensation. Disgusting. Glad the fucker has gone.

Fresh start. Good luck to Kenny. Good job NESV, better late than never. Hopefully the likes of Torres, Johnson, Agger still want to part of this club. I'm happy. We're finally on the right track..

On the back foot from the start and then he seemed determined to put a bullet in that foot.

I don't think he ever displayed the ego or malice of some and I hope he does alright where he goes next. Probably at a club where such naivety won't be so heavily scrutinised. And again, probably somewhere where a sizeable portion aren't against him from the start.

He'd do well to stop rubbing his face constantly as well. He looks like a heroin addict trying to go cold turkey.

Was about to post this in another thread that I think has been closed.
I'll throw it in here instead

Why is this in the liverpool forum? ;)

I like that.

It is hard not to feel sorry for an old man who was out of his depth and didn't do a very good job.
Had he just been those things there is no way he'd have been turned on.

It was the comments about owners, fans, and Denmark. The ducking and diving at the sight of culpability.
That's what did it for me.

Now we have the pride we always wanted and Roy has his cheque and the sympathy of the nation.
He'll be alright, and good luck to him.

Onwards and upwards.
YNWA.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Still believe Roy is a nice guy and wish him all the best in his future job. A question in mind is whether his decisions were influenced by Gerrard and Carra. The question might go unanswered but then again, All the best Roy!  :wave

I have no bad feelings towards Roy, I believe he genuinely tried his best, but he just did not fit into our club and his footballing
practices and philosophies/approach were not suited to LFC.

I do wish him well for the future.

It's sad that there was such a level of personal abuse on here and elsewhere but given our bleak season thus far
and some of the quotes attributed to him during his time here, it wasn't a surprise.

Thanks for trying Roy but I'm afraid you shall not be missed.

I don't wish him any ill will, and I don't think he intentionally wanted things to go this bad of course, his good was constantly not enough.

It's very encouraging to see FSG can take actions in difficult moments though.

I know I couldn't manage Liverpool FC so well done for having the balls to take it on but we can all spot when someone is struggling. On the basis of his interviews I'm unsure on the nice guy thing but he is the past now. Good luck in whatever else you do Roy.

A nice guy who was quick to belittle the fans, the reserves, the players and former managers, who signed bad players and then complained about not having his own squad, and who failed to get the team to play more than 90 minutes of decent football in half a season.

Other than that, hell yeah, a thoroughly decent bloke. Bet he's a hoot at parties.

Feel bad for him, but he was never, ever the right choice for Liverpool manager.

If you were a decent manager and were offered the chance to manage one of the biggest clubs in world football could you turn it down?

Well said mate, it always makes me wonder why absolute shithouses become decent people when they die. I'm not wishing death on Roy but the only thing I can say to him now is "thank you" for leaving.

I don't feel bad for him, he has become a multi millionaire through failure. I remember times when I was looking for work in the "Echo" I would look at the job description and think "naah nice money but I couldn't do that".  perhaps he felt it would be a good pay day before he retired.

Had to happen. Best for both parties at this stage.

Given how dreadful we've been and the fact he's walking way with an enourmous payoff its hard to feel too sorry for the man. Results are almost everything and under him we have massively under achieved.

That said, he's taken a level of vitriol from us which has been a complete embarrassment. The imagined slights, the nuerotic attention to his every word. Fuck me, its been worse than the football.

Neither he or we should be waliking away from this with our heads held too high. Both our reputations have taken a beating in the last six months that we'll do well to recover from.

He did his best but it wasn't good enough. It's a shame some people still want to be abusive but we've been through a lot of bollocks over the last couple of years or so,so I guess I can understand it. The blame lies with the people who appointed him, not him for takingthe job. I wish him well in his next job and hope he finds his way back in the game soon and does well wherever he goes. Out of his depth here and that's all.

Just say £x million which is too much for what he did in his short stay.

Can't blame Roy entirely for that. FSG have to look at Purslow and realise they need to ignore him if they havn't already.
