Nice bumping Squidge, lad.

A minutes silence in honour of a Liverpool hero is a necessity. Anybody know whether we are going to do so?

Very well done Squidge.

Well, if the Club don't choose to remember, we certainly do, and I think that would have pleased Shanks more than anything.  His "family of people".

R.I.P. Bill.
Rather a day as a lion than a lifetime as a sheep.

I can only be nice to one person a day.  Today is not your day.  Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
I tried being reasonable.  I didn't like it.  Old enough to know better.  Young enough not to give a fuck.

will always remember the date
St Michaels day and the day before my Birthday

was surprised nothing done yesterday
perhaps it's a reflection of how fans and club dont really rate historical facts

Being a Liverpool supporter living in the south of England during the fifties and early sixties was a lonely experience. Saturday afternoons was usually spent with my ear glued to a crackly tranny, desperate for news from Anfield.

I was just a young kid miles from the action but I would listen to thirty seconds of Shanks after the game, and even if we had lost, I would be
completely uplifted, transformed by his words, his enthusiasm, his optimism.

It was not for me, it was for the people of Liverpool who loved this club,
but it reached me anyway, and somehow Bill made me feel part of it too.

He could motivate like no other .....
he not only made us happy, he made us laugh,
and I think that suited Liverpool very well.

Nobody had what Liverpool had .....
Liverpool had Bill Shankly.
