Sounds a bit like he's ahead of schedule, which would be excellent considering the state of affairs at the moment.
Given that he was out for up to 4 weeks ... the west brim game isn't too far ahead..

It's still less than four weeks, so still ahead of schedule.

Excellent performance, considering he's been out over a month. Missed an easy chance, but he was already tired at that point, it was obviously not in our plans to have him playing over a hour tonight.

So unlucky today with that near miss, his first touch just let him down, would have been great to see him return with a goal. Either way welcome back Adam.

Will never understand why we'd ever use him as a wide-forward when it's so clear he's desperately needed in midfield to connect our lines and set the higher tempo.

Really hope against Soton we'll go with our best midfield Can-Gini-Lallana and give our front 3 a better chance of scoring more goals than we have recently.

In times like today surely we should put Gini wide and keep Lallana in the middle.

He was a breath of fresh air today. I can't wait until we have genuine depth on the bench

Can-Gini-Lallana with Phil-Bob-Sturridge upfront for the last 3 games and I think we'll start playing well again, creating chances and scoring a lot of goals.

I agree with that entirely.

It's why I'm more confident, with him in midfield everything changes in two areas of the pitch, midfield and in the final third. He has that big of an influence on us.

Also we could try playing Coutinho as the 10 behind sturridge and Bob, I think that gives us plenty of opportunities going forward.

So good to see him back for the top 4 run in.

how good was it to see him back  :) And to put in a performance like that for 75 mins when the hope I'm sure was to just use him for 20 - 25 mins in the 2nd half, was quite something.

What a player he's become for this team.

I said it when we first signed him that he would evolve into a better midfield player than winger or forward due to his fluidity on the ball , being two footed he can change the direction of attack swiftly combined with when the team are clearing out of defence he can receive the ball on either side and not be phased to enable a counter attack to develop much more quickly quicker and before the opposition sets themselves, one criticism I always had on Henderson is I think he is a fantastic player however very linear - plays the way he is facing 80% of the time , extremely effective but linear ,where Lallana can play in a much more multi dimensional capacity , together they make the midfield and the team a much more potent force.

Quickly has become one of my favorite players.

Told you he'd be good. Not you particularly. But yeah... there's a certain smugness about it. Am sure the one fella I used to work with who'd c o n s t a n t l y go on about Lallana being 'absolute fucking dogshit' ... 'usual rubbish from your Lallana last night' etc etc will still think he's shite tho!

Him, Firmino and Lucas has the best football brain amongst those who were fit to play. But sadly, there were no goals in either them.

I noticed Firmino became a better player with space to play in once Llalana came on.

We would have been within touching distance of Chelsea if only our front 4 played majority of the game together.

He was great on Monday, just hope he doesn't feel like he needs to prove anything when we play Southampton. Everytime we've played them with Lallana in the team, he seems like he's trying way too hard to leave an impression on the game. Hope he just plays his natural game and doesn't let the boo boys affect him.
