I just hope sobering lessons for the future tenure of Klopp can be learned from the manner of their witch-hunting of Rodgers by the currently heinous fan-base we seem to have been landed with.
Sorry but I'm getting a little jaded here of blanketing our entire fanbase with this name or that name. One look at the new boss gifsteria thread shows you the common joy and total unity that our fanbase has when given some hope, given something to believe in after being underwhelmed week after week with a manager that called it a constant 'rebuild'.
Chops calls the fanbase wankers, now we're heinous as well, and for what? granted some elements went personal, name called and that was totally out of order, but was that everyone? Did anyone hold a mass "Rodgers Out" sit in protest and hold banners to that effect at the game? Did anyone hold a march to Ayre's office or take an ad out in a Boston newspaper?
I don't see why it's hypocritical to echo Brentie's original post, which is to say we were all mesmerised by the title chasing season, we all dreamed and we were all part of something special that nearly came off, and for his role in that Rodgers can and must never be ignored. However, we can also say that it became more and more painfully apparent that -for whatever reason- it wasn't working anymore, things changed and the magic, the thrill, the pace and fluidity had gone out of our performances.
If the feelings are indeed mutually exclusive, then I don't see how those who wanted Rodgers be given more time are pleased with Klopp's (or anyone's) appointment? by that definition Klopp shouldn't even be here, we should still be under Rodgers, thus you can't be a part of whatever Klopp achieves because you never wished for him to be here in the first place. How is it not hypocritical to ask for more time for Rodgers and yet be delighted with Klopp's appointment?
